About the Role
As a Product Manager for our Platform Engineering team, you will help lead, strategize, and influence Uber's state-of-the-art infrastructure which is used by all of Uber's mission-critical services. You will be responsible for identifying opportunities to reduce cost and improve efficiency as Uber infrastructure scales to meet the growing demands from new and existing markets. You'll have a chance to make a significant impact across all of Uber and define the roadmaps, develop Uber's Infrastructure efficiency strategy, and partner with our internal stakeholders to ensure organizational success.
What You'll Do

• Go through the full product lifecycle, gather and integrate customer feedback into product requirements, drive prioritization and pre/post-launch execution
• Partner with key stakeholders, cross-functional product engineering teams to identify opportunities, improve visibility and create innovative solutions to influence infrastructure consumption accountability
• Help define the roadmap for a portfolio of capacity engineering products, by collecting key stakeholder requirements, evaluating the feasibility and ROI, and working with the engineering teams to prioritize and calendarize the execution
• Pioneer the delivery and management of best-in-class cloud and data Center infrastructure in the most efficient manner
• Rationalize and influence the leadership on a build vs. buy option
• Operate across a wide range of stakeholders at Uber - e.g. infrastructure, platforms, and product teams powering Rides, Eats, Freight, and other lines of businesses
• A customer-centric mindset to drive requirements and adoption of infrastructure and platforms
• Lead prioritization and trade-offs between schedule, performance, and cost
• Align key stakeholders to implement scalable solutions and operational excellence
• Proactively identify and resolve issues to meet strategic and financial (ROI) goals
• Engage with Uber executives through regular updates

Basic Qualifications

• 6+ years of technology experience with at least 4+ years in Product management
• Strong strategy and analytical skills to use data to support decision making
• Experimental mindset and use metrics to back up assumptions and evaluate outcomes
• High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities
• Ability to provide clear direction, set measurable goals, and give insight on industry trends to the leadership team
• Ability to conceptualize and analyze different parts of our infrastructure
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to simplify tough problems and technical jargon to anyone

Preferred Qualifications

• A background in Data Center Management or Public Cloud Infrastructure management
• Experience with IT and Cloud Cost Management, Demand Forecasting, Budget forecasting, Capacity management, Chargeback, and Showback reporting
• Successfully demonstrated bringing new cloud infrastructure technologies to market or delivering them at scale within a large enterprise
• Data examination and operationalization skills (SQL, building operational dashboards)
