The Enterprise Data Platforms (EDP) organization is part of the American Express Enterprise Digital and Data Solutions (EDDS) Group. EDP manages the Big Data Ecosystem which helps to centralize data across the company with built-in governance and democratization of access to a broad user community. The team is driving the future of our business by building products and platforms that delivers trusted and quality data for decision science processes, big data applications and analytical users. We are looking for multiple Product Managers across different work streams - BI & Analytics, Data Strategy/Movement and Web Portal - for within the Enterprise Data Platforms organization to support Cloud Enablement. This role works closely with Business, Technology, and Infrastructure partners to address user challenges and drive solutions to modernize the enterprise data platform.

In this role you will:

  • Understand the current on-prem big data platform landscape and execute the modernization roadmap to public cloud infrastructure
  • Work in close partnership with American Express Technology and other stakeholders to deploy next generation capabilities designed for long-term adaptability and scalability
  • Primary responsibility for execution and timely delivery on stated milestones with focus on business goals, quality, and user satisfaction
  • Drive day to day Agile based delivery processes across cross functional cross geography teams, which include feature and user story creation, performing user acceptance and managing end user communication
  • Define, measure and report for Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for delivered products and outcomes


Cloud BI and Analytics Enablement

  • Drive the execution on the BI and Analytics
  • Drive the strategy and vision for BI and Advanced Analytics and Portal
  • Build Capability Roadmap, Identify and prioritize BI features on Cloud
  • Lead the efforts to enable BI Analytics on Cloud
  • Drive the NextGen transformation to promote BI and Analytics through ML and AI
  • Build/Deliver/Enable Self-Serve capabilities on Cloud for Analytical and BI User communities.


Portal on Cloud

  • Own the development and migration of Cornerstone Web Portal on Google Public Cloud
  • Partner with key stakeholders and business partners (Google Team, Technology, UI/ UX, Solutions etc.) to define and scope out the core cornerstone capabilities having a cloud-first approach


Cloud Data Strategy/Movement

  • Apply analytical skills and business acumen with focus on data management and metadata strategies to develop innovative solutions
  • Identify opportunity areas in existing Data Management processes and come up with creative solutions and enhancements

If the role you are applying for is designated as hybrid or onsite, you will be required to demonstrate that you have completed your primary COVID-19 vaccination series (i.e., 2 doses for Moderna/Pfizer and 1 dose for J&J) and, for medically eligible* colleagues, a booster shot, in order to work in or visit any of our offices. This requirement is subject to legally required accommodations.

*Booster eligibility: The CDC has established guidelines for when adults are eligible to receive booster shots depending on when they completed their initial vaccine series (currently five months after the Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna vaccines, and two months after the J&J Vaccine). If you have completed your primary vaccine series but have not yet reached your booster eligibility date, you will be able to come into the office; however, you will need to complete your booster within 30 days of becoming eligible to continue coming in and participating in company-sponsored in-person events.

Education & Experience:

  • 10+ years of product owner experience in driving agile development processes.
  • Degree in STEM fields with work experience developing/launching products/technologies within one or more of the following: Cloud, enterprise, SaaS, internal tools, and/or complex financial systems.
  • Experience driving product vision, go-to-market strategy, and design discussions.
  • Experience creating strategic product roadmaps, working with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience managing day-to-day technical and design direction.
  • Knowledge of multiple functional areas such as Product Management, Engineering, UX/UI, or Payment business.
  • Ability to influence multiple stakeholders without direct authority.



BI And Analytics

  • Experience working on Business Intelligence /Analytics/Portal/UX
  • Data Preparation Tools experience.


Portal Experience

  • Familiarity with Big Data, Analytics and Public Cloud Technologies.
  • Experience with Web Portal, redefining Customer Journey for best possible experience


Cloud Data Strategy

  • Knowledge of SQL, big data batch and streaming data tools such as Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Kafka, and exposure to external Cloud based solutions will be a big plus


Good to Have

  • Business Intelligence/Visualization Tool experience (Tableau/Sisense/Looker/Data Studio)
  • Machine Learning and Statistical Analysis
  • Large Scale Cloud Migration
