Department OverviewThe Cloud Infrastructure Engineering team is responsible for the development and operations of critical cloud infrastructure and platform services, in support of Motorola Solutions' public and hybrid cloud-based Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions for public safety customers. This team is part of Motorola Solutions’ Software Enterprise division, which offers secure, reliable and efficient team communications, workflow and operational intelligence solutions for mission critical public safety and enterprise markets throughout the world. Our services leverage Cloud Computing infrastructure on Azure to build at scale.
Job Description

And to succeed we need to create a set of cloud services and platforms that are appropriate for enabling these critical services for customers around the world. 

The Cloud Infrastructure Engineering (CIE) team at Motorola Solutions is looking for a Product Manager who can own the strategy and roadmap for our infrastructure platform investments. You will be enabling our public safety and communications SaaS products to modernize and scale in the cloud and working on a diverse set of technical and business problems - like figuring out what geographies we need a presence in, to architect secure and lightning fast media storage systems. The critical nature of this infrastructure cannot be overstressed. 

This is a deeply technical role that requires knowledge and experience with public IaaS providers (Azure preferred), containerization technologies such as Kubernetes, cloud storage, and cloud networking. You will also need to have a keen sense of where the broader business is going to stay ahead of the curve. You’ll be responsible for working with internal and external partners to chart the strategy, prioritize investments and work closely with engineering to deliver the goods. You’ll have the autonomy to make build vs. buy decisions, work with partner teams to deliver solutions efficiently and present to executives to showcase the team's work. Job Responsibilities

The candidate will be responsible for

• Defining the vision, strategy and roadmap for core cloud infrastructure investments - e.g. compute, networking, storage and containerization.

• Understanding customer and partner requirements, creating functional specifications and working with engineering to architect and deliver the right solutions at the right time

• Product ideation, development and launch activities 

• Working with sales and marketing to determine which sovereign regions and geographies we need to build a cloud presence in and when

• Working closely with internal and external partners to understand what we need to build and prioritize based on business needs

• Managing external cloud and software vendor relationships to align priorities and jointly plan roadmaps

• Be the face of the team with executives around the company to showcase the value prop and progress against our goals.

Qualifications:

• At least 5 years of Product Management or Engineering management experience

• 10+ years overall industry experience in software, hardware or related engineering field

• 3+ years of experience delivering cloud based products and services

• Experience and technical knowledge of IaaS (Azure or AWS), Networking, Kubernetes, and related cloud technologies

• Experience working with external partners and vendors to make build vs. buy decisions, negotiate pricing and manage long term relationships

• Experience in SaaS development and DevOps concepts

• Demonstrated ability to seek out opinions & build trust/buy-in across all functional teams.

• Excellent communication and people skills

• Bachelor's Degree required (Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related degree)

Basic Requirements

• At least 5 years of Product Management or Engineering management experience
