We are looking for a full-time Product Manager to partner with our CTO to lead our product development function, including but not limited to: overarching product strategy, user research & analytics, product design, development team execution, and QA. This role will report directly to our CEO. You’ll own all product team initiatives, ultimately innovating upon our patient and partner experience to drive meaningful business outcomes. As an ideal candidate, you’re skilled at problem exploration, requirements gathering, feature prioritization, product launch, data collection, analysis and refinement. You’ll make difficult trade-offs where necessary to optimize time-to-market, while clearly communicating rationale, goals, roles, responsibilities and desired outcomes to internal cross-functional/distributed teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops a deep understanding of all users (foremost our patients, but also our dermatologists, our Pharmacy and Care teams), and continually acts as a voice for our patients. Puts a framework in place for maintaining clear channels of communication to varied users, and in gathering regular feedback/input
  • Establishes the medium-term product strategy and a supporting, data and research-driven product roadmap. Partners with engineering, design, marketing, and operations to ensure alignment with long-term company goals and on go-forward execution
  • Designs a repeatable and scalable internal communications process to keep key stakeholders informed and fully able to support incremental product enhancements
  • Writes product specifications and creates wireframes that bring new features to life; works closely with design and engineering to shepherd them to production
  • Collaborates cross-functionally as product leader within the company, ensuring that our entire offering is cohesive and delightful at every touchpoint.

Experience & Skills:

  • Broadly capable: you are as comfortable speaking to a patient or dermatologist end user as you are with a team of software developers
  • Data driven as a rule, with the occasional flash of insight that builds upon the quantitative. You thrive in having and setting clear objectives and goals. You can identify situations when clarity or focus is lacking, and are eager to make necessary changes to provide it
  • Empathetic in the extreme. Skincare is deeply personal, and our patients have vastly different reasons for seeking medical help. How well do you understand (or how sensitively do you seek to understand) these varied perspectives and needs? And when you're not in the shoes of a user, how effective are you as a team player? If you're the right product and team leader, you will elevate those around you in service of the greater good
  • Entrepreneurial: you’re a self-starter, naturally fill leadership vacuums, can identify and scrutinize opportunities for potential impact, and effectively prioritize across competing needs
  • A skilled communicator. You can bring people and teams along with your vision and inspire action; yet can equally justify difficult choices and say “no” with grace
  • Detail-oriented: you’re meticulous with everything from intricate feature specs to quality assurance checklists to chasing down nitty-gritty dependencies across complex projects
  • Impact-seeking. You strive to make an impact in whatever form is required, and ideally have previous startup experience doing the same.
  • An experienced consumer product owner, with 3+ years of practice -- ideally with exposure and experience in DTC, healthcare, or complex marketplaces that serve two or more user types
  • Ideally, someone with a passion for skincare, and an understanding of the dynamics within this unique market
