Job Description: Product Owner

The Product Owner is responsible for the product vision and maximizing the return on investment (ROI) of the development effort.

Product Leadership• Partner with Product Management to understand product vision and strategy with the ability translate into meaningful Epics and Stories so that the Agile Team can deliver incrementally.• Partner with Product Management to develop a comprehensive product strategy, related roadmap, and help to set key business objectives for your product.• Ability to understand the market, help product management to execute on the product roadmap and backlog focused on the highest impact work to the customer.• Utilize product knowledge and customer feedback to assess value, develop business cases, and prioritize the direction and desired outcomes for the product.• Remain in constant engagement with client partners and product management to ensure alignment and that needs are met.• Provide continuous direction and support to product team to ensure success.• Utilizes functional expertise to align product backlog items to product strategy.• Accountable for the creation and maintenance of the Product Backlog across multiple teams.• Prioritize product backlog by adjusting any long-term expectations, such as release plans.• Accountable for partnering with release management to develop release plans.• Responsible for prioritization of features, user stories, and other product backlog items.• Responsible for the creation of user stories with clear and concise acceptance criteria.• Partner with product teams across the organization to help achieve business goals.• Answer questions regarding requirements and deliver direction to the team (or direct them to the right resource).• Consider stakeholder interests and negotiate priorities.• Collaborate with Solution Architects/Engineers to understand architecture.• Reviews and accepts completed user stories from the Agile Team.• Ability to encourage an open exchange of information and viewpoints.• Passion to inspire others to achieve challenging goals and high standards of performance.• Foster a sense of urgency to achieve customer goals and leverage resources to overcome unexpected obstacles.

Agile Leadership• Participate and facilitate in Agile ceremonies with Agile Teams• Create and maintain product backlog of features and user stories• Run and own backlog refinement ceremony• Provide vision and direction to agile development team(s) and stakeholders throughout the product development process• Collaborates with team to define 'definition of done' and 'definition of ready' for product backlog items• Develops relationships with stakeholders and customers to enable feedback loop• Play an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint• Partner with Scrum Master across the teams to ensure• Keep abreast with Agile best practices and new trends
Outcomes & Results• Product Backlog is defined, refined, and ordered• The Agile Team understands product vision and strategy• The Agile Team maximize and deliver value to our customers

Knowledge & Experience• 6+ years of technology Product Owner/Management experience, preferably with product delivery and/or working with banking and/or finance domains• 4-year college degree (or equivalent experience)• Strong investigative, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team• Experience with technology and ability to facilitate communication between business, customers, and technology teams• Experience working in an agile environment (e.g., writing user stories, iterative development, sprints, managing backlogs)• Proven ability to lead a body of work with cross functional partners• Participated in an Agile Transformation, a plus
