Earnest empowers people with the financial capital they need to live better lives.

We're an accomplished team of technology, finance, and design geeks who believe consumer lending can be radically improved and are doing something about it. We are disrupting the trillion dollar student loan industry by redefining what it means to be creditworthy. We created a company that combines data science, streamlined design, and technology to:

  • Build products that simplify the lending process
  • Personalize loans to suit the needs of our customers
  • Engage with our customers through more human experiences

Our culture is one that values transparency and blameless problem solving. Earnest has a strong track record of employee growth and career progression. Earnies are empathetic, product-focused, proactive, and curious.

As a Senior Product Analyst on the Data and Analytics team at Earnest, you will report to the Lead Product Analyst and work closely with our Going Merry (scholarships & financial aid) team to use data to make better decisions and accelerate learning. This role requires true analytical curiosity and the ability to solve unstructured problems. You have experience not only deriving insights, but delivering impactful and actionable recommendations. You have the ability to see different angles of a product or business opportunity, turn abstract business questions into structured data analysis, and clearly communicate meaningful insights that drive strategic decision-making.

What you’ll do:

  • Perform hands on, in-depth analysis to assist in identifying product opportunities and product roadmap decisions
  • Analyze behavioral and financial product data to identify customer segments, improve conversion, and gain understanding of the consumer life cycle within the product
  • Clearly and concisely communicate insights and results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Work closely and collaborate constantly with product managers, designers and growth managers to provide analytical rigor throughout the product development lifecycle
  • Design and analyze A/B tests to find efficiencies within the user journey

Ideal Background and Expertise:

  • 3+ years of experience in a data-centric role
  • Experience manipulating and summarizing data using SQL
  • Experience communicating results and insights to leadership
  • Experience in Analytics Tools (Segment, Amplitude, Google Analytics and/or Looker)
  • Understanding of conversion funnels
  • Experience with experimentation and A/B testing
  • Experience (or interest in) primarily asynchronous work

An Insider's view of Earnest

How does the company support your career growth?

Earnest offers a great mix of talented individuals who have diverse backgrounds, experiences and ideas. Earnest empowers individuals to own their work, provide feedback, make critical decisions. Every opinion is welcomed. Earnest is a high growth company, it provides opportunities and encourages employees to grow towards their aspirations.

Ranna

Lead Software Engineer

How do you empower your team to be more creative?

By rewarding risk-takers and celebrating failures. “PhD in moving fast” is one of our values and one of of my personal mantras. In addition to being fast, it’s not good enough to accept failures, you have to celebrate them. Recently, we tanked an email campaign because we tried to grow it too fast - I praised everyone involved.

Zach

Head of Direct and Performance Marketing

What's something quirky about your company?

People bring their full selves to work. I’ve seen folks really embrace their personality: from going all out for Halloween to carrying on voice impersonation for a full meeting. Folks have a sense of comfortability to express themselves and their personality that I haven’t seen in other workplaces, it really makes the work even more enjoyable.

Jason

Sr. Product Designer
