Amherst is looking for a Senior Technical Product Manager to lead the development of our consumer facing solutions and serve as a key member of the technical Product team within Technology to ensure customer and business expectations are satisfied while identifying innovative opportunities to stay ahead of the curve. This role will work closely with the Leasing, Marketing and Property Management businesses and a dedicated Tech squad (Design, Engineering, Architects, Project Managers and Analysts) to drive the product roadmap, identify and fill product gaps, implement new product features and opportunities, and become an expert in the rapidly growing real estate vertical.

What you’ll do:

  • Define and manage the product strategy and roadmap for the MainStreetRenewal.com brand within one of the largest real estate companies in the United States, you will own the digital front door of Amherst’s leasing business which has millions of unique visitors every year
  • Collaborate across multiple technical and business teams to create a seamless user experience across the consumer’s real estate journey – from home search to leasing prospect, application process and finally resident status
  • Optimize the digital experience for our thousands of residents to ensure premium customer service
  • Work closely with engineering, design, data science, marketing, and operational teams
  • Lead product ideation, validation, definition, and execution
  • Lead and mentor a small team of Business Analysts and UI / UX designers to craft well defined requirements developers understand, and wireframes and designs stakeholders can get behind

What you’ll bring:

  • Minimum 5 years of consumer website and mobile Product Management experience, preferably in the Real Estate industry
  • Minimum 2 years of line management responsibilities
  • Bachelor’s degree and Product / Project Management certifications
  • Proven record of product growth through data-driven decision-making, using data to validate problems and ideas objectively
  • Expert written, presentational and oral communication skills
  • Empathetic without being a pushover, analytical but sees the bigger picture
  • Ability to synthesize problem statements from customers and stakeholders while redirecting the conversation away from solutions and feature requests
  • Enough familiarity with technical frameworks and processes to have an informed discussion with engineers and solution architects
  • Keen eye for consumer-grade product design
  • Experience leading qualitative and A/B testing (e.g. usertesting.com, Optimizely) to deliver and design optimal frontend experiences

Nice to Have:

  • Experience and sound working knowledge of Salesforce CRM and Google Analytics highly preferable
