About Us

Wonder is a fast-growing food-tech startup that’s raising the bar on the role food plays in peoples’ lives. We’re creating an on-demand dining experience where customers can receive high-quality meals perfectly prepared and served to their doorsteps within minutes. We partner with the best restaurants and chefs across a diverse range of cuisines to offer access to the world’s most delicious food—anytime, anywhere. Meals are prepared in Wonder kitchens and finished by onboard chefs deployed in our customized mobile kitchens.

Wonder is led by a team of experienced entrepreneurs including some of the most accomplished leaders and operators in the technology, culinary, and logistics industries. Backed by top-tier venture capitalists, we’re moving quickly to pioneer the future of food.

If you join our team, you’ll work in a supportive and collaborative environment where our culture and our values—Mastery, Compassion, and Courage—are taken as seriously as delivering an incredible experience for our customers.

About the role

The Fleet Product organization is responsible for developing the mission-critical product stack and related utilities which bring our unique last-mile logistics operation to life.  Responsible for all of the technology on our state-of-art Mobile Kitchens (MKs). In this role, you will lead a team of resources (product, designers, researchers, analysts, data scientists) to innovate and build the operating platform that lets Wonder deliver fresh food, prepared right in front of our guests.

The Fleet products are used by our largest internal population (our Chefs on the Road) and truly blend hardware and software to create an immersive and productive experience for our users.  You will work closely with the Technology, Engineering, and adjacent Product teams (Supply Chain, Inventory, Consumer) on developing and executing a strategic vision with direct impact on our bottom line.

This product portfolio includes (i) the software that provides proprietary turn-by-turn navigation & order routing, (ii) an on-vehicle hub for cooking, hospitality, inventory and training, (iii) a fleet planning & management suite, (iv) our algorithms for speeding up meal preparation, order routing and labor utilization and (v) our Command Center which remotely orchestrates, monitors and supports our delivery service.

As one of the highest performing teams, the Fleet Product group collaborates effectively, promotes ideas and people based on merit, and values diversity on every level.

  • In this role, you will be the leader of the Fleet Product team and be expected to promote and develop the ideals of the greater organization.  You will lead from the front and coach from the rear by innovating, organizing, and prioritizing what gets built, but also especially by providing support and mentorship to all levels.
  • We have a lot of great talent already, but you will have an opportunity to recruit new members of the team as well as engage with third parties or any other skillsets that are needed by the team.  You will develop and own the budget that’s needed to make your team successful.
  • You will be the primary point of contact for partnering with other Product leaders across the firm.  You will lead quarterly strategic planning and be a thought partner both inwardly and outwardly.
  • This is a high visibility role and you will be expected to prepare overarching roadmaps, bring the best out of our technologists and engineers, and be a motivational force that has an outstanding impact.

The experience you have

We are seeking a Product & Design professional with at least 10 years of direct experience building, designing and leading an enterprise Product team.

  • The ideal candidate will have experience building products for a diverse user population that is widely dispersed across the learning curve. You will have expert, intermediate, and novice users that will require a well-researched and dynamic user experience.
  • Fleet Products merge software and hardware, so experience with physical hardware and understanding how to balance process ergonomics with superior UX design will help make you successful.
  • An understanding of the constraints associated with edge computing and building a distributed system that runs on mobile devices in the field is recommended.

The way you work

Our people are what makes our company great, and we want you to be just as excited as collaborative as we are on this journey we are on. If this sounds like you, then come join the team!

  • You never settle for “good enough” and inspire the team to do their very best.
  • You recognize that people are people and treat them all with the respect, empathy and compassion that they deserve. You recognize that by bringing diverse opinions to the table, we can evaluate the very best ideas and go all in.
  • You are obsessed with problem solving and use data, insights, good judgement and a good heart to make decisions for the business and our people.
  • You have the maturity and professional experience to challenge the status quo, pursue what seems impossible, and lead through open dialogue.

Benefits

We offer a competitive salary package including equity and 401K with matching. Additionally, we provide multiple medical, dental, and vision plans to meet all of our employees' needs as well as many benefits and perks that are not listed.
