Job Description:
As Senior Director of Product, Cloud Skills you will lead and grow a talented team of Product professionals to define and execute on a differentiated product strategy for Cloud, a specialized domain within the Pluralsight Skills product suite. Help us create new, innovative products that transform businesses and lives around the world, and shape the future of our already market leading content, assessment and hands-on learning products. Cloud is one of the biggest growth priorities for Pluralsight, and the Senior Director of Cloud Product is tasked with deeply understanding the customer needs of one of the fastest moving sectors of the tech industry and working to define the product vision and strategic opportunities to deliver real ROI to learners and businesses.
Reporting to the SVP of Cloud, you'll work closely with a highly skilled cross-functional team of leaders across Pluralsight to deliver a cohesive, but highly specialized product experience on top of the Pluralsight Skills Platform that sets Pluralsight up as the market leader in Cloud.
Job Description• Lead the global, fully remote Cloud Product department at Pluralsight with diverse, distributed teams in Australia and across the USA.• Oversee the development and delivery of the department OKRs and alignment to the broader Cloud strategy and objectives.• Work closely with the research & insights team to develop a product vision and strategy for Cloud that is closely aligned to our business objectives• Collaborate with Cloud leadership to deliver on broader business objectives and align leaders across the business around key strategic initiatives.• Work closely with your peers in Design, Technology and Content to deliver a great product experience that aligns product and content strategies as one, and is executed with precision.• Oversee alignment between teams and their roadmaps to ensure Product is unified in delivering value for our customers and the business.• Work closely with SVP Cloud to define and clearly articulate the product vision and strategy to the product teams, Cloud organisation and broader business. Ensuring alignment between product initiatives and the company's strategic goals.• Deeply understand the cloud-specific education needs, trends and technology; and the industry changes that drive content development and innovation.• Oversee the continuous improvement of product management processes and develop the way we deliver on our product strategy, including; product insights, discovery and delivery.• Champion the use of data and metrics within Cloud Product to inform strategic decision making.• Partner closely with Go-to-Market teams to develop growth and monetisation strategies for the product, driving financial outcomes for the Cloud business.• Work collaboratively with the Pluralsight Platform leadership team to help develop strong working practises and enable the platform to be aligned with and support the Cloud strategic priorities.
People Leadership• Lead and nurture a high performing team of product managers to inform product and business decisions.• Effectively communicate, inspire and coach team members towards common goals and business objectives.• Foster a culture of collaboration both within the Cloud Product department, and more broadly throughout the cross-functional teams and departments at Pluralsight.• Develop an environment of curiosity, learner mindsets and a bias towards action in the team which enables our teams to navigate the constantly evolving landscape.
Skills Required
• Proven experience leading multiple functions; developing people leaders who have reported directly to you.• An expert on modern forms of product planning, customer discovery, product discovery, and product development process and know how to work effectively with a rapidly growing company.• A structured and creative thinker and able to harness chaos into a logical architecture.• Thoughtful and analytical decision-maker with the ability to consider multiple solutions to the same problem and can identify nuances to decide what level of detail/sophistication is needed to make an informed timely decision.• Experience communicating strategic objectives in a variety of means to suit audiences such as Senior / Executive leadership, and other stakeholders within an organisation.• A background in fostering collaboration between teams, within or outside of your immediate group to deliver on common objectives or goals• Excellent communication skills - written and oral - and experience developing and leading remote teams with a bias towards asynchronous communication and collaboration.
Success Factors• The Cloud business unit is able to effectively influence the overall Pluralsight vision and strategy with strong research-backed arguments.• The cloud leadership team always has the data and insights available to make smart, proactive decisions on the future direction and investment opportunities.• We have a validated and clear strategic plan for the next 12 months at least.• There is a consolidated cross-functional roadmap that is influenced by product, content and GTM.• There is a clear and compelling story and messaging for the cloud domain offering that enables us to thrive as part of the broader Pluralsight offering, and as a standalone market competitor. Strong GTM processes are in place to drive demand and usage of the cloud domain offerings and the Product and Product Marketing teams are in lock step.• We've identified a number of large scale Cloud specific product opportunities through solid customer research and discovery, and actively started executing or validating them with customers.
