The CIB Chief Data Office (CDO) is a business-centric organization whose purpose is to unlock value for our stakeholders through timely delivery of high-quality, compliant data. The CIB CDO oversees the overall strategy and execution of the CIB data agenda.
Contributing to the broader CIB CDO agenda, the Reference Data Product (RDP) organization is entrusted to provide reference data products which support and enhance the needs of our business consumers. RDP's core functions are Business Relationship Management, Product Solutions, and Portfolio Management. Partnering closely with Technology, this diverse global team is dedicated to delivering high quality reference data solutions in line with the needs of our line-of-business and their respective clients. The Reference Data Product Solutions function drives the overall product vision and strategy, aligning to business priorities. The product suite includes Party Central, Reference Data Taxonomy (Business Taxonomy, Common Static Data, Enterprise Product & Services Taxonomy), Reference Data Analytics, and Reference Data as a Service (RDaaS) architecture, components, and integration. The team works closely with both business stakeholders and technology partners to define new product features and drive business value.

Job Description:
As a Product Owner of the Agile team, you will be supporting the implementation Reference Data Solutions, projects related to Product Adoption, Product Enhancements, Production Fixes, Operational Releases, Data Integrity, Platform conversions and Regulatory reporting. This role will primarily focus on capturing requirements from stakeholders, creation of JIRA stories, planning and prioritizing stories in sprints and managing testing. The role will also requires additional Project Management activities like tracking, monitoring, leadership, management and/or participation of the full agile project life cycle (Requirements, SIT/UAT and Implementation) for each project, providing updates to the project teams on the status of the testing activities, as well as writing and executing test scripts. The role will include working the subject matter experts to confirm requirements and to provide feedback on potential impacts as well as the coordination of training & communications between the project and operations teams.
Collaborative partnership with the impacted technology, finance, legal and operations teams will be essential to ensure the success of each project, ensuring completeness of business requirements, clear understanding of operational impacts and resolution of operational issues related to the requirements raised.
Responsibilities Include:

  • Function as an Independent 'Product Owner' who owns deliverables from the BOW (Book of Work) to analyze Requirements, raise clarifications with Stakeholders and create Atomic JIRAs for technology to deliver based on product vision and synergies.
  • Function as a Stakeholder-facing Product Owner who can synthesize the requirements, drive the analysis with appropriate questions supported by workflow documents, scenario analysis and wireframes (as needed).
  • Defines the product backlog, create actionable user stories, prioritize stories based on epics, manage product backlog, and ensure development focuses on JIRAs with maximum value that are aligned with product strategy
  • Assess the value of JIRAs per Sprint and develop Use-Cases Documents, Wireframes and provide Sample data sheets on JIRAs on case by case basis.
  • Partner with other Product Owners across different teams and LOBs to ensure project is delivered on schedule, within budget and within scope.
  • Proactively lead and deliver on each Sprint throughout the agile lifecycle of a project.
  • Growing into an SME who can provide clear direction and vision to the Technology partners, Testing Teams and Stakeholders throughout the Agile Development Lifecycle.
  • Track defects, perform root cause analysis and identify the means to resolve defects.
  • Assist in the planning of Implementation Plan per Agile release and identify the set of activities/task that need to perform on the Release date.
  • Conduct significant data mining and data analysis to support recommendations on necessary action items.
  • Diagnose and facilitate resolution of key issues and risks within the project, ensure operational and business change readiness.
  • Support end to end User Acceptance Testing process and conduct overall project evaluations/quality control.
  • Support management of projects on an ongoing basis, evaluating progress and quality, managing the issue resolutions process, and taking corrective action or escalating the issue when appropriate.
  • Develop, track, analyze, and publish project reports, project summaries, scorecards and program/project performance trends.
  • Combine knowledge of what the business wants with knowledge of how the systems are built and create a business proposition across cross functional areas.
  • Assist client's product process and content, develop and execute test plans / test scripts, assist in managing the overall project governance.
  • Support project management reporting deliverables; OPTIC, governance decks.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated strong business Product Owner experience
  • Independently lead and drive initiatives to completion and manage risks/issues
  • Hands-on end-to-end Agile experience for a minimum of one year
  • 3 to 5 years of experience within a financial services organization, exposure to any Regulatory or compliance product is a plus
  • Must have experience writing business requirements and grooming user stories with technology partners
  • Prior Project Managements and test management experience is a plus
  • Working knowledge of testing tools, Quality Center, MS Excel (Pivot tables, v-lookups) and PowerPoint, MS Visio and Microsoft Access and Microsoft Project required.
  • Bachelor's degree is required
  • Knowledge of database systems (e.g. MS SQL Server 2000, Oracle, Toad) and database concepts (Optional)
