About The Role

Invista is looking for a highly motivated and self-driven Project Product Owner to join the finance team! This role would be responsible for advancing a significant system conversion by ensuring strategies align with overall vision while proactively identifying and managing risks. The successful candidate would be responsible for acting as the Finance/Accounting liaison between the business, stakeholders, IT, and subject matter experts. The candidate should have strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to effectively challenge to ensure the end state achieves the vision of the project. The Project Product Owner will interact with various capabilities and levels within the organization; therefore, strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are essential for this opportunity.

This role will sit in Wichita, KS and will work on a hybrid in office/home work schedule.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Understanding and clearly communicating accounting & finance requirements based upon business objectives.
  • Partnering with IT to evaluate solutions and make risk-based decisions on alternatives.
  • Actively participating in the challenge process and raising concerns/constraints to key stakeholders.
  • Engaging with subject matter experts across Accounting, Finance, and IT to ensure best knowledge is utilized.
  • Being a champion of effective change management by proactively partnering within the accounting & finance organization on future state processes and outcomes.
  • Determining requirements for replacement of current desktop solutions and analytics. Utilize data visualization & data transformation tools to rebuild processes and measures off new data sources.
  • Participating in prioritization of key deliverables throughout the project and ensuring that gaps post go-live are identified and addressed in a timely manner.


The Experience You Will Bring
Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Technology, or related field
  • Experience with integrated financial systems, accounting systems, database structure
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite or Office 365; that includes Advanced Excel and Access skills (spreadsheet creation/editing, pivot tables, graphs, data manipulation/analysis and formula creation)
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proven problem solving and critical thinking skills


What Will Put You Ahead

  • Finance/Operations Accounting experience in a manufacturing organization
  • SAP or other large ERP, integrated system experience
  • Project management experience
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools for data visualization and data mining/blending such as PowerBI or other software
