Description

The Product Owner is a key team member who will work closely with our software team and business partners to execute and deliver long-term goals in quality products.

This individual will lead an IT development team responsible for several systems integral to the business. They will lead, collaborate, conduct and/or participate in hardware and software design reviews, product demo's and planning/grooming sessions to ensure technical quality, alignment of strategy and vision. This role partners closely with the Scrum Master and Project Management Office to develop, sustain, enhance and prioritize product backlogs. The ideal candidate will have experience with developing consumer facing products as well as back office applications to include enterprise data warehouse platforms.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for understanding functionality, gaps and opportunities in the products
  • Closely partnered with Development Leads, PMO and Architect to provide solutions that deliver results on our ecommerce platforms.
  • Help protect the product teams (from organizational noise and interruptions)
  • Serve as a strong advocate for our developer, corporate, and consumer customers
  • Ensuring the team's product backlog is well defined.

Skills:

  • Preferred bachelors in sciences or engineering
  • Background in Corporate Systems (Financial Management Systems, HRIS), EDW and BI (Business Intelligence) a plus
  • A proven track record of taking a product from concept to market and post release support
  • Proven analytical capabilities, strong persuasive writing and communication skills, internet business experience, and the tenacity to develop ideas jointly and thrive in a fast paced culture
  • Deep understanding of customer needs, the competitive landscape and able to translate customer needs into features and pricing models. Ability to multitask effectively and efficiently
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Outstanding time management skills, organized and precise
  • Ability to problem solve and make decisions while remaining calm and collective during stressful situations
  • Critical thinker and strong attention to detail


Educational Requirements:

  • BS or BA degree preferred
  • Formal business experience, training, and education Technology related certifications


Experience Required:

  • 2+ years of product owner experience or business analyst experience


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to speak clearly and communicate effectively with customers.
  • Ability to research and work at a reasonable pace to produce documents, diagrams, investigate web sites, review spreadsheets, etc.
