Product Owner

Job objective: This is an exciting role in a growing company. The ideal candidate for the position is someone who has experience taking a technical product from concept to launch. A combination of technical prowess, strong project execution, and excellent people management skills will make a candidate successful. To be effective, a Product Owner must develop a broad understanding of all product development disciplines with a strong focus on execution.
Duties
- Key resource dedicated to delivering a quality product for production. Track execution and escalate risks on product development programs to ensure quality or schedule is not compromised
- Work with functional leads e.g., Software, RF Design, Systems to create high quality engineering plans executed/tracked in scrums
- Work with Sales/Business Development to synthesize product requirements for engineering design teams. Support Sales/Business Development with customer requests
- Work with Operations to ensure manufacturing schedules are met. Gain feedback from Operations on the design on how to improve manufacturability
- Work in an Agile environment and continuously reviews the business needs, refines priorities, outlines milestones and deliverables, identifies opportunities and risks, and oversees mitigation efforts
- Assist in business plan assessment for new products by aiding in analysis of NRE and cost to manufacture each unit
- Lead a multi-discipline team of engineers to develop a product
- Coordinate the transition from prototype to production to enable efficient manufacturing
- Ensure company leadership is aware of product status and needs
- Hire any necessary skill sets to maximize technical edge of Epirus products
- Willingness to learn about all aspects of the system
Required Qualifications
- Balance of technical skills and business acumen
- Organized; comfortable working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
- BS degree in an Engineering or Scientific field
- 5+ years of experience in product/project management, Systems Engineering, or related
- US Citizen (future security clearance may be required)
Desired Qualifications
- Track record delivering complex electro mechanical systems to production
- Expertise in developing product development plans including driving continuous improvement in product development practices
- MS degree in an Engineering or Scientific field
