Job Summary

In this role you'll own the Data and Analytic product as part of the Enterprise Analytics & Data Management organization with WM's Digital organization, in partnership with Business Product Owners. Having a product mindset, you will act as a liaison between the business and Digital on development projects. You'll lead business process analysis, needs assessments, needs assessments and various analysis in effort to align technical solutions with Digital initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain roadmaps for Data Science, Data Management, Business Intelligence and Advance Analytics projects for the department.
  • Presents technical processes effectively to all levels of the organization.
  • Contributes strategic vision and integrates a broad range of ideas regarding applications and software development.
  • Manages complex cloud-based software projects, web application development, security and open-source technologies.
  • Applies knowledge system design, development, implementation, upgrades, and analysis.
  • Collaborator with developers, testers, and scrum teams.
  • Partners with business and UX teams to understand and implement product features.
  • Performs in an agile environment, leading business needs, refines priorities, outlines milestones, deliverables, while identifying opportunities and risks.
  • Determines and documents business and user requirements, process flows, and specifications.
  • Translates product roadmap features into well-defined product requirements including features, epics, user stories, and acceptance test criteria.
  • Drives user stories, feature assessments, gathering and documenting processes.
  • Prioritizes sprint backlog for assigned products, balancing requirements of stakeholders.
  • Manages document repositories, maintenance, and updates of project documentation library.

Supervisory Responsibilities

The highest level of supervisory skills required in this job is management through one or more managerial levels. This includes both direct and indirect supervision of full-time employees including management and individual contributor positions.

Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.

A. Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree (accredited), in computer science, MS, or similar area of study, or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four (4) years of relevant work experience.
  • Eight (8) years of previous experience in addition to education requirement.

B. Preferred Experience

  • 8+ years experience as Product Owner in agile scrum environment, preferably in area of data and analytics.
  • Agile experience with daily stands and sprint cycles
  • Jira, Confluence, or similar applications
  • Project experience in Data Science, Business Intelligence and Data Analytics.
