Job Summary
The Product Owner will function as an owner of a category or application/system, guiding build teams or individuals in the implementation of application and/or functionality at time of implementation and ongoing performance. The Product Owner will receive input from strategic product stakeholders including executive leadership, product management, internal companions, users of the solution, and others, in order to define the experience of a given capability. This role will work closely with other subject matter experts, third parties, design and research teams, and technology partners in order to convey roadmap and deliver functionality. Depending on business line, may have direct reports.

We can hire candidates located within the Associated Bank footprint. This includes the states of Arizona, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Rhode Island, Texas, and Wisconsin. This position is eligible for remote work, however due to work requirements we will give preference to candidates located in Illinois, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.

Job Accountabilities

  • Ownership, care and delivery of an application, system or categories
  • Serves as subject matter expert for build teams and key internal partners; consulting and engaging as needed, ensuring appropriate priority of delivery and serving as the point of contact for issues and questions needing escalation
  • Create and review initial Epics / Stories/ application or system focused projects; performing additional research and analysis in order to add detail and dependencies; creating or leading supporting team members, reviewing and approving relevant epic / story completion or application/system process and procedures
  • Maintains a prioritized backlog of user stories, project issues, and enhancements to deliver exceptional internal and external customer experiences
  • Drives focus across Product and IT while assisting in mitigating/resolving roadblocks
  • Participate in / lead the following ceremonies as appropriate: product/project backlog grooming sessions, PI and sprint planning events, stand-ups
  • Engage with stakeholders to define and implement end-user testing and concept validation, and to gain insights and identify customer/employee needs and solutions
  • Act as gatekeeper to meeting 'definition of done' for each sprint or project phase
  • Establish, manage and accountable for OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) for assigned business line category or categories, application or system


Education

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Business, Finance and/or Technology Required

Experience

  • Three or more years of Product Ownership experience Required
  • Three or more years of Product Management and/or Design experience Preferred
  • Two or more years Software/application development experience Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

  • CSPO, SAFe and/or POPM certification by start date, Preferred
