Job Responsibilities

As a global broadband services and technology company, we are connecting international communities to the internet by offering residential internet service; enabling passengers and operations crews to stream high-bandwidth media, applications, and content when traveling globally on commercial, business or government aircraft and maritime vessels. The Product Management Organization within Global Enterprise Mobility helps to deliver and maintain Viasat's best-in-class in-flight wifi services to our global Commercial Airline customers.

  • The specific area of responsibility is to manage the Passenger Experience portfolio of products for Commercial Aviation. Responsibilities include:
  • Accountable to execute the product strategy and roadmap as directed by product leadership
  • Accountable for bridging all communication efforts between product teams, project stakeholders, and engineering teams, to conduct reviews, translate deliverables, attain consensus, buy-in, and sign off as required
  • Owns the creation and management of product deliverables related, but not limited to product requirements, agile epics and stories, visual workflows/diagrams, documentation, gap analysis, and acceptance criteria with prioritized features and specifications deliverable to platform engineering teams
  • Responsible to write and provide user stories, use cases, and documentation focusing on the "how" to effectively break down high-level product requirements into engineering deliverables
  • Accountable to support company employees, divisions, and departments with relevant product information necessary to complete their jobs successfully
  • Partner with company product managers and business unit stakeholders to execute on product vision and strategy, and manage releases for all engineering deliveries
  • Accountable for managing all projects related to passenger experience product development initiatives for a single new product



Requirements

  • Proven history (5+ years) of success in product ownership, software development, or user experience
  • Knowledge of JIRA
  • Comfort in data and insight analysis to drive product decision making
  • Proven expertise in product planning, development, launch and on-going management
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to effectively represent a multi-disciplined operation
  • Experience leading agile development teams as product owner, scrum master or technical lead.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively deal with external and internal customers
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience



Preferences

  • Previous eCommerce success
  • Experience with Scaled Agile Framework
  • Proven customer management skills

The starting salary for this position is $132,050 annually, but an offered salary may be higher depending on your skills, qualifications, and experience.
