Position Summary

We are seeking a goal-oriented, entrepreneurial, and motivated individual to take on the role of Product Manager. This role is the driving force in developing our vision and realizing growth for our separations sciences products that will be utilized across the breadth of our targeted industries (e.g. Pharmaceuticals, Clinical, Forensics, etc.).

Utilizing Voice of Customer (VOC), this individual independently develop and present clear and concise business cases, prioritize product requirements, actively participate as a member of project teams, define product value propositions and support launch strategies ensuring a high level of quality is built into and delivered to customers globally. The role also leads product lifecycle through roadmaps, and supervises product financial health.

The selected individual will be skilled at delivering oral presentations to senior leaders, customers, cross-functional teams, and other groups as needed. A strong technical background is needed for success. The Product Manager may report to the Director of Product Management or to a Senior Product Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

Leads the growth and profitability of a product portfolio and identifies, develops, and presents opportunities for new and current product development improvements. Also develops and executes end-to-end product development, product road map, positioning and pricing. As part of the core project team responsible to develop business cases, customer product requirements, support launch strategy, commercialization plans and execution.

Perform ongoing voice-of-customer (VOC) interactions with key internal and external customers globally to outline workflows, identify problems, acquire feedback on new and existing products, and identify solutions.

Working cross-functionally with R&D, Marketing, Operations, and other supporting functions execute projects for the existing portfolio of products and lead the commercialization process to ensure successful product launch to realize business goals.

The selected candidate gathers, assesses, and presents market and competitive intelligence, global trends, and displacing technologies. Develop product line forecasts in collaboration with Product Marketing and Supply Chain Planning and identify inventory interruptions. C0mmunicates product commercialization strategies to Senior Leadership, Commercial and Operational teams. Supports VIP and key customer interactions as needed.

Travel potentially up to 30%

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree with 6+ years' directly related experience in Product Management, R&D, or Marketing & Sales including business case development, product/project financial reviews
  • -OR- MBA/Master's degree with 4+ years' experience
  • -OR- Doctorate in field with 2+ years' experience
  • A strong technical background coupled with solid business acumen are essential for success


Preferred Skills:

  • Strong business discernment and financial aptitude; experience in the financial analysis/modeling skills
  • 2+ years working knowledge of practical HPLC workflows and hands-on experience in liquid chromatographic instrumentation like HPLC-UV, UHPLC-UV, and LC/MS or other chromatography and sample preparation techniques is desired
  • Strong fundamental general chemistry knowledge as well as a thorough understanding of experimental design and troubleshooting workflows
  • Able to work as a productive member of a team in a matrix organization with the ability to adapt and handle competing departmental needs
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Results oriented individual with focused urgency; strong work ethic, ambition and drive for success
  • Executive presence and interaction skills, with ability to influence decisions across all levels of an organization
  • Able to work with limited supervision; self-motivated for continued learning
