What Product & Solutions Marketing contributes to Cardinal Health

Marketing assesses customer needs, market conditions and competition to inform business strategy. This function implements the business strategy by developing and commercializing products and services and managing them throughout their full life cycles.

Product & Solutions Marketing defines marketing strategies and manages products and services throughout their life cycles to meet and exceed revenue and profitability objectives. This family identifies customer needs and conducts market research to inform marketing strategies and offerings. This family also defines pricing, positioning, promotion, branding and distribution to drive customer loyalty, sales growth and improved profitability.

Accountabilities

  • Assist in the development of the global product strategy for the product line(s), working with both regional and Channel Marketing leaders
  • Main point of contact for regional marketing to support maintenance of business and other needs in the region
  • Proactively provide updates to regions related to product availability, important dates, supply issues, etc.
  • Collaborate with Regional Marketers for market or product expansion related activities
  • Establish a structured region to region communication and promote collaboration
  • Translate unique market needs into customer requirements
  • Global supply and demand planning oversight (e.g., critical codes)
  • Point of contact for manufacturing operations and planning
  • Help manage the global revenue/profit for product lines within a product portfolio.
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of marketing and product management disciplines necessary for building business plans, product plans, and marketing plans
  • Utilize market trends, customer needs, and competitive positioning to develop preferred product offerings for targeted segments and channels
  • Understand methods available to execute primary research that are necessary to drive product line/portfolio decisions
  • Can identify market opportunities through primary and secondary market research and take action by implementing and managing solutions that meet customer needs
  • Identify and remain current on market trends - determine product lifecycle implications and make decisions to drive market competitiveness and to achieve sustainable economic success
  • Translate market and customer needs across multiple regions and channels into clearly defined product requirements and product line strategy
  • Ensure that all promotional, launch, and marketing activities align with the overall portfolio strategy and facilitate proper communication and collaboration with all applicable marketing resources across regions and channels
  • Demonstrate strong financial acumen and logical decision making in the general business environment
  • Understand and demonstrate sound thought processes as it relates to business cases, investment requests, forecasting, pricing, deal structures, and assessing strategic options
  • Strong ability to influence and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including R&D, Procurement, Manufacturing, Finance, Quality, Regulatory, Legal, Inventory, regional and channel teams, and others



Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred.
  • 3+ years experience in related field, preferred.
  • Strong financial and business acumen preferred
  • Proficient with MS Office Applications, specifically Excel
  • A COVID-19 vaccination or a legitimate accommodation is required in order to be employed in this position. COVID-19 vaccination includes: 2 doses of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine OR 1 dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine
