Responsibilities

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

As a Product Manager supporting our Principal Securities and Principal Financial Network space, you'll have the opportunity to execute on strategy and partner with various stakeholders to drive our business initiatives to the next level!

Here are a few examples of the kinds of things you'll do:

    • Through partnership with leadership, this role is business focused concentrating on defining the vision and strategy based on market research, an understanding of company goals and strategy, and by looking at the current state of success of their products/services all with the objective of improving the experience for our users/customers and the bottom line for the organization.
    • This role serves as the content authority for medium sized and/or moderately complex product/program/project management initiatives.
    • Embody mindsets in our technology culture. Assist in representing a balance of product direction and the customer/stakeholder needs.
    • Tell the story of the problems that need to be solved and opportunities. Focus on describing value proposition, value stream, and capability outcomes. Work with team to validate how solutions build towards those outcomes and meet customer needs. Take accountability for decisions.
    • Build strong partnerships with stakeholders so you can represent their needs. Garner their support and engage them proactively to overcome barriers.
    • Responsible for understanding business/customer outcomes and timeline. Monitor milestones on the way to completion. Participate in release management and solution validation.
    • Make decisions to enable the team to deliver quickly. Be comfortable not having all of the answers. Make small bets and embrace experimentation. Break down stories to enable small, frequent iterations versus big bang deliveries. Keep lines of communication open with stakeholders so their needs are represented and they understand what is being delivered along the way. Serves as a subject matter expert working with moderately complex product/program initiatives.
    • Responsible for prioritizing, using criteria defined by business area & stakeholders. Involve the team in how to break down and order the work.
    • Utilize and expand networks of partners in various areas and use resources, in addition to own knowledge and experience to understand the stakeholder/customer.
    • Empower teams to own solutions being created versus telling them what needs to be done and how it should work. Challenge status quo, encourage innovation, be open-minded and approachable. Influence, lead and collaborate well with all partners.
    • Lead development and communication of a roadmap to deliver strategic objectives. Present high level view of the features and key deliverables to customers and other stakeholders.
    • Build an effective product management culture to ensure efficient and successful delivery on business strategies and customer outcomes/expectations.
    • Take a lead role in communication practices necessary to achieve business results.



Qualifications

We're looking for someone with:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required, plus 10+ years business or product management experience
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels of the company
  • Requires an in-depth knowledge of the company and the industry; and comprehensive knowledge of technology and its role in solving business problems
  • Strong strategic thinking/vision, collaboration and decision making skills including business savvy and relationship management
  • Understanding of users, market place, competition, trends
  • High level technical understanding



Salary Range Information

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

Salary Range

$116000 - $162000 / year

Work Environments

This role offers the ability for in-office, hybrid (blending both office and remote work in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements. You'll work with your leader to determine which option may align best based on several factors.
