We are looking for an enthusiastic product manager to build a portfolio of educational games by leading the development team though the product development process-set priorities, solve problems, remove obstacles, facilitate communication. In this position, you will work closely with a skilled group of engineers, creatives and curriculum specialists to create the best possible experience for students. The ideal candidate is passionate about working in education technology and games with a history of working within technical environments. We are searching for someone is highly organized, pays special attention to detail, and is excited about the meaningful impact that Amplify is making in the world of education.
Responsibilities:

  • Use your deep understanding of game development, software development process, and project management best practices to manage cross-functional teams in the creation and delivery of complex projects, in particular iterative product and game development.
  • Navigate stages of game development, including feedback (partner and user feedback) to advise priority adjustments in short cycles
  • Lead the team through problem solving daily, viewing each new problem as an opportunity for success and approaching challenges creatively and methodically, seeing them through to final resolution
  • Drive high velocity, high impact development cycles, balancing out short-term needs and long-term vision.
  • Clarify requirements and ensure they are validated by deliverables end-to end; guide the team in adjusting these requirements based on key partner feedback, discovery of alternatives, or recognized complications/limitations
  • Continually play the team's games while in development to ensure functionality and production value meets the game's design requirements and our high bar for quality.
  • Serve as a dedicated advocate for our customers and users, empathizing with their needs. Represent customer perspectives through all phases of product development.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience in game development, production or similar
  • Experience working with a cross-functional team of artists, designers, animators and engineers.
  • Experience in project management and associated tools for managing development.
  • Experience successfully communicating and collaborating with internal and external partners to launch or improve a product
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Strong project leadership skills


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in technology, design, user experience and product management
  • Knowledgeable of game industry trends and enjoys playing games
  • Understanding of Lean Startup and Agile methodologies
  • Experience working on educational products and/or converting educational goals into game design
