Product Manager, Friend Recommendations

We’re looking for an experienced Product Manager to lead friend recommendations ranking and quality, as part of our Growth PM team. Helping Snap users find and connect with their close friends is foundational to the Snap product experience. Working from our Los Angeles, San Francisco, Mountain View, or Seattle offices, you will work with a highly collaborative team of engineers, designers, and data scientists, to build the products and experiences that bring our community together and help them interact in new and special ways.
What you'll do:
Drive the strategy for friend suggestions ranking, inventory, and quality for both new and existing snap users, as well as other friend discovery features like search and notifications.
Be responsible for friending quality and spam and abuse, to ensure the friendships created on Snap are valuable and meaningful for our customers
Be the product leader for friend suggestions at Snap by deeply understanding the needs of our customers, the goals of our business, and developing a strong product vision and strategy for growth
Partner with designers, engineers, and data scientists to build technology, systems, and products that support the growth of Snapchat’s community
Build alignment across the company on your vision, including with leadership and executives
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Experience working on a user facing feature leveraging ML ranking and recommendations
Define and analyze success metrics and input metrics for a large team in a complex problem space
Expertise in AB test design and interpretation
A team player who can collaborate and build trust with engineers, designers, data science and other cross-functional teammates
Think creatively and approach problems with system-level thinking
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience
4+ years of experience in product management or similar product development positions
Preferred Qualifications:
Hands on experience across the entire product lifecycle including: defining product needs, prioritization, pre/post-launch execution
A passion for Snapchat and creative problem solving!
