At Curriculum Associates (CA), we believe a diverse team leads to diversity in thinking, making our products better for teachers and students. If you read this job description, feel energized by what you see here, and believe you could bring passion and commitment to the role, but you aren’t sure you meet every qualification, please apply! Above all, we are looking for the right person!
Why join this team:
Curriculum Associates is a rapidly growing educational technology and publishing company committed to making classrooms better places for teachers and students. Headquartered outside Boston, we are an innovative, collaborative, and mission-driven company that has been consistently recognized as a Boston Globe Top Workplace and a Boston Business Journal Best Place to Work. Come influence the creation of educational resources that are used by eight million students around the country!
We are seeking an enthusiastic Product Manager to join the English Language Arts (ELA) product management team. The Product Management team is the conduit between the customer and the product development team. The team serves this function in a few different ways: they gather data and feedback from customers and customer-facing teammates and synthesize it into requirements; they maintain the product roadmap and backlog by aligning ideas to business objectives, and they help other teams in the Go to Market phase by being an expert on the product. This particular role provides an entry-point into a product management career path. This role will work cross-functionally with the Bids & Proposals, Sales, and i-Ready Product Marketing teams, serving as product expert and voice of the customer, combining a deep understanding of our products with insights about priorities/important trends in teaching and learning (e.g., Science of Reading), to help drive the growth of our business.
The impact you’ll have:
- Serving as the voice of the customer and connecting development teams to market-facing teams
- Developing expertise and product knowledge, and serving as an expert in the market landscape, in order to support the ELA content-development teams in building lessons that meet the needs of customers, and that align with the demands of statewide adoptions
- Developing and refining accurate documentation and strategic product messaging for CA’s elementary ELA programs
- Being the lead contributor to writing proposals to state/school district solicitations
- Establishing strong working partnerships across internal groups including Bids & Proposals, Content Marketing, Professional Development, and Assessment teams
- Communicating new product features and helping to organize training for account management, field trainers, tech support, and customer service professionals
- Acting as the point of first reference for all product development inquiries from customers and our colleagues in the field (professional development, account management, sales)
- Maintaining competitive information and market research and sharing it with teams to inform content development
- Supporting product marketing by conceptualizing and helping to create customer-facing materials that will support “stickiness”
- Occasionally creating and/or editing ELA content, with supervision
What we’re looking for:
- You have 3+ years of experience in educational publishing, instructional design, standards alignment, literacy development, curriculum mapping, or another relevant field
- You have deep knowledge of Reading/Language Arts, especially Foundational Reading skills
- You are an effective, active listener with strong communication skills, both verbally and written
- You are a self-starter, capable of excellent organization/prioritization, delivering quality work under deadlines
- You have exceptional writing skills
Not required, though we'd love to see:
- Experience working on an editorial and/or marketing team
- Classroom experience
