We are seeking to add a Design Systems Lead to our team! In this role at EveryMundo, you will have the opportunity to oversee the creation and development of a themeable Design System. You will collaborate directly with different teams and participate in key decisions along the way.

  • In this role, you will be accountable for:

    • Leading the EveryMundo Design System vision and strategy for our consumer facing products.
    • Ensuring the integration of the EveryMundo Design System within existing and new products.
    • Serving as Subject Matter Expert on the EveryMundo Design System and interdependencies between other products.
    • Championing UX/UI best practices through the development of reusable, web accessible components (WCAG v2.0+ - AA) to build and integrate consistent, efficient components across the products portfolio.
    • Understanding the customer and end user needs to prioritize features which engage and convert while remaining true to the product vision and strategy, and the scalability of it as a priority.
    • Collaborating with other product owners on the company roadmap

    In this role, you will be responsible for:

    • Keeping the Design System documentation accessible, up-to-date, and organized for related teams consumption. 
    • Documenting and processing user stories and related use cases for new components or changes to existing components.
    • Communicating updates and changes to cross-functional teams such as Product Design, QA, and Developers.
    • Defining and documenting implementation approach and support workflows for all new components, versions, and features.
    • Conducting the EDS training along with documenting supplementary materials.
    • Organizing customer feature requests for consideration for incorporation into the EveryMundo Design System.

    In this role, you will be consulted for:

    • Coordinating with Product Managers to complete Feature Definition documentation (document user stories / use cases, define product success KPIs, defining mockups)
    • Collaborating with Product Management, UX/UI, Architects and Developers to perform feature ideation and prototyping.

WHAT YOU HAVE:

  • 3+ years of professional experience with design systems
  • Experience working with design systems and creating documentation.
  • Experience working with UX, product, and engineering teams.
  • Experience solving complex problems and use cases through wireframing and prototyping.
  • Strong knowledge of accessibility (WCAG v2.0+) and design best practices.
  • Expert in Figma, Storybook, Zeroheight or similar programs.
  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant certifications (UX Design, HCI, Engineering or other quantitative degree is preferred).
  • Familiarity with Javascript, React.JS, Angular.JS, and HTML/CSS.
  • Language skills: English, bilingual in Spanish a plus

Proven track record of taking ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Experience working with cross-functional teams to deliver products and projects on tight deadlines.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations and drive action.

Excellent attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.

Comfortable in presenting suggestions for change and or improving workflow.

Enthusiastic and proactive approach with willingness to learn.


WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:

3 Months:

  • Begin reviewing and auditing inconsistencies in components and patterns to gain a deeper understanding of how to scale and implement the design system
  • Understand all core processes such as Product Lifecycle, Product Roadmap, Product Implementation, and Sprint Planning.
  • Establish familiarity with product instances and customer implementation methods, use cases, and customizations.

6 Months:

  • Advanced ownership in all development lifecycle activities, including: developing technical design plans, documenting use cases, and defining requirements.
  • Demonstrated understanding of customer and end user needs through thoughtful ideation and product roadmap planning.
  • Ability to translate product usage data into meaningful insights for product roadmap prioritization.
  • Create feature documentation, training plans, and feature support workflows.

12 Months:

  • Complete ownership in all development lifecycle activities. Provide overall guidance and support to ensure the product meets business objectives.
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert on core product; troubleshooting advanced issues and assisting others when technical questions arise.
