Role : Product Manager - Category Management - PMG

Location : Virtual/ remote

The PMG Product Manager/Director acts as a subject matter expert in Category Management, with an emphasis on assortment planning/optimization in the FMCG industry. Strategically drives the development, market launch, and continual support and improvement of Blue Yonder Category Management products.

  • The Product Manager/Director is strategically focused and typically involved in product marketing, supporting product sales, obtaining win/loss information and conducting win/loss analysis, customer care, expert on the product and customers.
  • Focuses on long-term strategy, product vision, observing market trends and the identification of new opportunities, and supporting the sales/adoption of the product. Communicate/clarifies functional design to Product Development (PD).
  • Provides assistance to Support and Implementation Services on complex customer issues. Applies and communicates industry knowledge and best practices. Collaborates with customers to perform analysis on their system.
  • Supports the development of product collateral for sales enablement and conducts analyst briefings and inquiries regarding BY Category Management solutions. Facilitates iterative improvement of design with PD Product Owners. Gathers requirements with customers on new products or enhancements to existing products to identify gaps and assess usability of designs. Partners with the Special Interest Group (SIG) Chair to manage the activities of the group. Provides inputs and requirements of UI/UX design and standards. Pursues opportunities to solicit customer feedback on product functionality and knowledge of their day in the life process. Oversee the product backlog, ensuring priorities are correct.



Major Tasks

  • Work with PMG Program Lead to develop product requirements and roadmaps consistent with company vision
  • Be the expert on the product and customer, previous FMCG assortment planning experience a plus
  • Work with PD Product Owners to review customer issues about product functionality
  • Work with customers to understand their business problems; work with PD Product Owners to resolve those problems
  • Work with PD Product Owners, customers, and market to identify solution opportunities and establish roadmaps
  • Incorporate feedback from customers, partners, and internal teams to identify ways to expand product market reach
  • Communicate roadmaps; internal/external
  • Establish feature acceptance criteria
  • Ensure products and releases are launched correctly and on schedule
  • Customer Care and Sales support in answering RFPs, functionality questions, and work to ensure we win deals
  • Conduct win/loss analysis
  • Analyze growth rate, SWOT, market penetration and competitive analysis for the products
  • Participate in user conferences, industry events, and customer facing situations as a product expert
  • Be the Blue Yonder Category Management Product Evangelist
  • Support the development of product collateral for sales enablement
  • Conduct analyst briefings and inquiries regarding BY Category Management solutions



Required Skills

  • Proven experience with Category Management software or as a Product Manager
  • Prior assortment planning/optimization experience within the FMCG industry
  • Pragmatic Marketing certified is a plus
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage changing priorities
  • Ability to achieve goals in an innovative environment and to evolve product strategy based on research, data, and industry trends
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Problem-solving aptitude
  • Creative/Strategic thinking skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Must enjoy spending time with customers so as to understand their challenges



Travel

35-50% Potential (Depending on customer engagement and sales support)
