As the leader of the TAB Bank Business Product Development team, the Product Development Team Manager plays a key role in driving growth and innovation through the development and enhancement of new and existing retail and commercial digital deposit and lending products and services.

TAB Bank is an established leader in the digital banking realm and is accelerating the growth of our internal and FinTech partnered financial product offerings. This key leadership position is responsible for the Business Product Development team that conducts research, design, development and governance of both new and existing products and services and their ongoing enhancements. Product scope includes all aspects of our retail and commercial deposit and lending services including online banking services and our digital lending platforms which encompass acquisition, underwriting, and onboarding.

The individual must have an understanding and passion in product development and management functions, as well as solid knowledge of retail banking and commercial credit lending. The Business Product Development team has full life-cycle responsibility for assigned products, as well as associated business vendor management, competitive positioning, customer experience concepts and business level platform acumen. Working closely with the agile IT Development Managers and their teams, the Business Product team owns the business communication of product vision/strategies to varied audiences; including partners, executives and cross functional teams and ensures alignment across the organization. The Business Product Development team will be accountable for the execution of those strategies including the capturing of industry, business and partner requirements, analysis, product development, and enhancements throughout the product lifecycle.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Under the guidance of EVP of Digital Banking, develop strategies to establish, enhance or distinguish competitive products and services for our customers
  • Own business responsibility for the assigned product(s) including end-to-end customer experiences.
  • Build, develop and maintain a Business Product Development team.
  • Develop business plans, implementation strategies, forecasts and performance scorecards for assigned product(s) or services - working across business lines and cross-functional disciplines.
  • Responsible for defining comprehensive and holistic requirements; from a business perspective to ensure addressing market/merchant needs, and cross-opportunities for different business lines.
  • Work with Project Delivery, IT product specialists, Operations and other key stakeholders to ensure proper integration with internal systems, definition of efficient operational processes etc.
  • Create and maintain product documentation for internal and external use - to support and sell capabilities.
  • Manage the Governance processes for the assigned Product(s); Establish baseline & best practices guidelines for product implementation, testing/certifications.
  • Manages key internal partnerships with marketing and TAB Lab (innovation center), organizing and coordinating the market research and design; documenting results to create business case that supports developing new products or existing product enhancements.
  • Ensures compliance with all legal and regulatory policies and practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Successful candidate will be self-driven, highly motivated, and comfortable interacting at various levels of organization all the way up to executive management, the board of directors; and external partners and vendors, with versatile styles
  • Experience in defining business/technical strategies & concepts; working with variety of business, technical, operational, marketing and legal/regulatory staff is preferred
  • Able to manage multiple priorities with competing deadlines
  • Possess strong organization and planning skills with an ability to quickly adapt to change
  • Able to influence in a highly matrixed and rapidly changing environment
  • Continually learn and evolve to meet the needs of our customers.
  • Ability to apply analytical processes, ingenuity and creativity to problem analysis and resolution of issues
  • Passionate about innovation and knowledgeable about the evolving financial services space, tools and experiences
  • 10 years of management experience over direct reports and/or cross-functional teams
  • 5 - 7 years of experience in Business Product Development within the financial services industry
  • Bachelor's degree; Advanced Degree (MS or MBA) a plus
  • Familiarity with P&L's and other financial and analytic data a plus

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:

  • Stellar ability in communicating effectively, both verbally and written
  • Strong time management and organizational skills in order to manage multiple priorities
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong Microsoft application knowledge (Excel, Word, Access, and Outlook) and aptitude for grasping and using various bank software applications
