Product Development Consultant - Risk Products (Remote Opportunity)

The Risk Product group oversees the product line management, development and research for Disability, Group, and Long Term Care. They partner with key stakeholders across the organization to drive the overall product line and results.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist with ownership of insurance products including design and implementation of new or existing products, promotion strategies, overall execution of the product strategy and day-to-day product line management to advance sales and servicing.
- Support ongoing insurance product evolution including coordinating and driving efforts with technical, operational, compensation, investment and regulatory experts.
- Interpret customer needs and is the go-to product expert that can explain and translate product or program features and functions to internal and external partners.
- Translate product strategy into product design details.
- Build platform expertise to identify and provide product input for efficient set-up.
- Provide support and product expertise to internal teams and advisors.
- Assist in coordinating competitor, market and consumer insights to inform product research opportunities
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business, finance, economics or related field.
- 5 plus years of experience in financial services.
- Demonstrated ability to drive promotion or design within cross-departmental initiatives.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to develop deep product expertise.
- Ability to anticipate decision impacts, future consequences and trends.
- Ability to build strong external networks with resources in the industry.
- Strong organizational and follow-through skills, with ability to work within deadlines, prioritize work and multitask.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to make effective formal presentations.
- Proven management skills including negotiating, leadership, delegation, planning and organization.
- Advanced degree preferred.
