Position Summary:

This Solutions Development Process Leader is committed to contributing to the growth and success of the Affinity Solutions business by broadening the value Securian Financial can offer to our customers through an innovative, comprehensive product and services offering. This role is responsible for the execution of strategic solutions (products, services, and partnerships) from ideation to in force management. It gathers information independently as well as through internal and external partners regarding customers, clients, competitors, and industry trends. This role collects and processes this information, working with a cross-divisional core team and enterprise-wide partners, to create, assess, prioritize, develop, and launch new products and solutions. In addition, this role is responsible for generating ideas for how to apply learnings to improve the development process, as well as the products and solutions currently offered.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Leads the solutions development process, ensuring it is repeatable, efficient, transparent and operationalized
  • Drives solutions through the development process, from ideation through implementation
  • Collects and facilitates information from internal teams (e.g. sales, relationship management, customer insights, competitive intelligence) and external sources (e.g. market data, distribution, industry groups) regarding customers, clients, competitors and industry trends.
  • Vets and assesses ideas generated to inform potential opportunity/impact and determine priority with cross divisional core team and enterprise partners as needed.
  • Owns and manages Solutions Development dashboard of in-flight initiatives, as well as pipeline and previously reviewed ideas.
  • Presents findings, recommendations and status updates to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Ensures consistency between ongoing solution development initiatives and the idea's original intent, and any new monitoring and learnings are fed back into ideation.
  • Networks with wide array of partners including externally facing with clients, distribution, and industry groups to stay connected and informed.
  • Understands Affinity Solutions value propositions, customers, clients, and processes to help identify opportunities within and across markets.
  • Demonstrates product expertise across various markets.

  • Strong organization and documentation to manage multiple projects at once.
  • Ability to drive decision making with partners at various levels and with various backgrounds.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills, to effectively communicate with people who have various backgrounds and work at all levels.
  • Strong networking skills with the ability to build relationships internally and externally with differing expertise.
  • Inquisitive with a self-driven desire to learn and understand customers, clients, competitors, and industries, along with Securian's processes and capabilities.
  • Adaptable to rapidly changing environment/priorities.

#LI-hybrid **This position will be in a hybrid working arrangement.**

Physical job requirements:
  • Ability to utilize keyboard, mouse and computer for up to 8 hours per day
  • Ability to work at least 40 hours per week
