Job Description
The ProtectBuy Product Management team within Payment Services is responsible for delivering and maintaining ProtectBuy (3-D Secure) products to our business partners across the Discover Global Network. The individual will lead the development of product performance metrics and drive improvements in product use by our merchants, acquirers, issuers and net-to-net partners. They will also manage internal and external communication via regular reporting, outreach to our vendors, and communication via the vendor portal. They will also assist with billing operations and management of the sunset process for the old version of the product.
He/she assesses the performance of and shapes the structure and direction of new and existing product lines and develops or assists in developing and executing strategic product plans for key initiatives such as the introduction of new products, product line extensions, or product enhancements. Assist the team in achieving specific goals for each product, including evaluating product performance, and identifying innovations to address customer needs and improve product performance in the market.
Responsibilities
- Identify sources, monitor, analyze, and interpret key product performance metrics including financials, network volumes, other key statistics, and internal/external customer feedback trends, then develop and communicate findings, suggests and recommends performance improvements to support data driven business decisions.
- Partners with vendors and/or cross-functional internal teams such as Sales, Operations, Legal, Marketing, Finance, Technology in the evaluation, development, management, and/or enhancement of assigned products and/or programs.
- Manages and communicates scope, deliverables, timelines of projects and/or plans within pre-set budgets.
- Participates in Agile sprints, planning, and executions.
- Collaborates with cross functional teams to develop or support sales efforts or go-to-market strategies.
Minimum Qualifications
At a minimum, here’s what we need from you:
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences, Information Technology, Communications, Marketing, Business, or related field
- 4+ years of experience in Product Management or related
- In lieu of a degree, 8+ years of experience in Card payments, network, acquiring, issuing, mobile technologies, digital payments, or related including Product Management Experience
Preferred Qualifications

- Master’s Degree in Social Sciences, Information Technology, Communications, Marketing, Business, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in Agile methodology
- 2+ years of experience in Card payments, network, acquiring, issuing, mobile technologies, digital payments, financial services or related
- Excellent organization skills
- Excellent communication/relationship skills
- Good project management/process improvement experience
- Knowledge and experience of e-commerce payments and authentication technologies
