The role
SoFi is looking for a Principal Product Manager for our Student Loan Refinance product. In this role, you’ll be defining, prioritizing, and building features that save our members thousands on their student debt and help them get their money right. You will own the strategy, product planning and leadership throughout the product life-cycle, including: setting the product vision, gathering and prioritizing product requirements, and collaborating with engineering, design, user research, legal, marketing, risk, and operations to ship new features and product improvements.
As a product leader in our organization, you will be expected to set ambitious goals, be gritty, and accountable to results. You’ll play the critical role of bridging the technical and business worlds to deliver enhancements that delight our users and drive our business forward.
What you’ll do:
- Build disruptive innovative solutions in a customer-centric environment
- Create and evangelize a product vision for student loan refinancing and own a multi-year product roadmap
- Prioritize and drive backlogs for launch with your dedicated engineering teams
- Own instrumentation and data for your products to drive deep understanding, innovation and product plans
- Be able to lead in a fast-paced agile environment
- Work cross-functionally with stakeholders across marketing, sales, operations, legal, compliance, capital markets, and executive management to translate customer needs into a product.
- Be able to work closely with design and engineering to own and dive deep into backlogs, definition of done and technical details.
- Experiment constantly to drive customer learnings and customer impact.

What you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher with a technical discipline, or equivalent experience
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal. Experience presenting to C-level leadership
- Demonstrated experience defining and shipping commercially successful consumer- facing products on mobile and web to large market segments
- Experience in end to end ownership of a product and P&L
- 8+ years of leading high performance product teams
- Data-driven approach and excellent analytical skills
- Deep customer empathy and passion for their success! You do right by them, always
- Ability to work with remote teams
Nice to have:
- MBA with BS or higher in Computer Science
- 10+ years product management
- Experience with hypothesis-based product experimentation
- Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, manage tradeoffs and evaluate opportunistic new ideas with internal and external partners
- Experience in the Fintech space
