POSITION SUMMARY

Every day millions of customers search and browse on Gopuff for their daily needs. As a Principal PM for ranking, you will be responsible for surfacing relevant and personalized results (incl. relevant ads) to each customer for both search and browse use cases. You will also build product recommendation systems to suggest relevant products to customers across their shopping journey. Gopuff is growing fast and entering new product categories, which makes this a very exciting and high growth area to own and build a team around. Search is one of the key priorities for the company as it directly impacts the experience of millions of customers who search on Gopuff for their daily needs. In this highly visible role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams across Gopuff to identify key opportunities, create a compelling vision for the next generation ranking systems, define success criteria and metrics, drive alignment, manage roadmap, and ship products.

This position reports to the Director of Product. We have hubs in Philadelphia, San Francisco, Seattle, NYC, LA, Austin, Boston, and Chicago, and are location-agnostic for this role. #LI-Remote 

Responsibilities -

  • Key Requirements Understand user and business needs; identify and define product requirements
  • Drive product development with a world-class team of Engineers and Data Scientists to deliver impact for our business and users
  • Build alignment across product teams, cross-functional partners and Leadership/Executive team. Communicate concisely and influence outcomes
  • Communicate complex technical systems to broader stakeholders to facilitate good business decisions for the marketplace
  • Develop the product roadmap and build consensus on prioritization which drives product execution 
  • Set aggressive yet realistic and practical goals for the team with clear objectives regarding measurement, results, and accountability of actions.
  • Evaluate new technologies and make recommendations to pursue in future productsFoster a culture of data informed decision making

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in technical product management with a focus on building world class digital consumer products
  • Technical background as represented by 2+ years industry experience as an engineer, data scientist, or related quantitative role
  • Demonstrated ability to create an environment that fosters data-driven experimentation at high velocity
  • A strong leader and excellent communicator who can drive consensus and articulate program recommendations and tradeoffs to senior executives
  • Outcome oriented leader who asks hard questions, articulates the desired outcome and works collaboratively to create a path to achieve it; proven ability to bring simplicity and measurable results to complex situations
  • Experience in machine learning, relevance and recommendation systems is strongly preferred
  • Experience building 0 to 1 products
