About the job
The Red Hat In-Vehicle Operating System team is looking for a Principal Product Manager to join us. In this role, you will help define the creation of a new initiative focused on bringing Red Hat's Linux expertise to the automotive industry. In addition to outstanding organizational and leadership skills, you'll need to have a good balance of technical and business skills to help set business priority and to describe the value of technical features to the engineering and business leaders. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
What you will do

  • Define, review, and convey the key attributes of our offerings that will lead to rapid and wide adoption of Red Hat Linux within the defined areas of the automotive industry
  • Use your direct experience with open source software for the automotive industry; work with internal teams aligned with partners to assess partner-requested features and ensure that they are also supporting market problems and marketing themes you've defined
  • Manage and coordinate complex, multi-phased deliverables by guiding cross-functional teams to define, scope, plan, and deliver high-quality software for the automotive market
  • Develop and nurture relationships with key internal and external stakeholders while fostering an environment of collaboration, trust, and accountability within and across teams
  • Collaborate with the business development, program management, product marketing, and senior executives to determine solution priorities and how to best bring them to market for maximum impact

What you will bring

  • 10+ years of experience working as a product or program manager for enterprise software offerings
  • Direct experience defining or implementing software solutions for one or more automotive subsystems like advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and infotainment
  • Working knowledge of open source software and development models
  • Evangelist with proven written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team; experience working with product marketing or guiding positioning and go-to-market strategies for mission-critical software offerings
  • Proven record of motivating others without having direct authority over them
  • Prior success in shaping cross-offering integrations is a big plus
