Description:
• The Operations NPI (New Product Introduction) Launch Team will introduce new products into the manufacturing environment. We work with cross-functional teams, organizing manufacturing-related activities, and ensure objectives are accomplished to meet production ramp requirements.
• The NPDM (New Product Development Manager) will lead in the global Operations environment, represent manufacturing in NPI core teams, coordinate manufacturing plans, work closely with engineering, and partner with the Program Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilitie

o Lead global manufacturing core teams to support launch of new Test & Measurement industry solution

o Represent the manufacturing organization on NPI core team

o Articulate program information and strategies back to Operations management

o Coordinate development of program manufacturing, test, and materials plan

o Work closely with engineering teams from any of the Tektronix US locations (Ohio, Oregon, Virginia)

o Coordinate product cost estimation

o Partner with NPI program manager

o Ensure availability of tooling and test equipment capacity to support manufacturing ramp and steady-state production

o Manage logistics of being assigned to a program where the NPI core team is at a different location or time zone

o Responsible for following all rules of safety and maintaining the work area in a neat and orderly fashion

Secondary Function

o Take ownership, champion, and drive improvements in NPD processe

o Quickly drive, communicate, and gain support for decisions in ambiguous and unstructured environment

o Understand manufacturing cost drivers at both printed circuit board assembly and product level

o Influence cost

o Maximize operational efficiency and gross margin

o May work within the scope of other job classifications, when necessary, because of workload requirement

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education Requirements. Four-year bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering, manufacturing, or business. Bachelor of science in engineering preferred
  • 3-5 years of work experience in electronics manufacturing preferred
  • Ability and willingness to travel both domestic and internationally. This may increase significantly when assigned to a program where the NPI core team is at a different location
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills



Preferred Skills:

  • PMI certifications
  • Project/program management on complex products
  • Managing functional groups or projects across multiple geographies and cultures
