Network Services Product Manager
Job Description:
Responsible for maximizing the value for a product. Defines the vision and roadmap for the product, defining and prioritizing stories in the product backlog, and articulating this to both stakeholders and the development team. Works closely with stakeholders to understand their needs, and with the Product Manager in a scaled Agile model to ensure there is alignment.
Possess a working knowledge of the product, and basic understanding of the business or technology domain. With some guidance, creates the vision and roadmap for the product to align with strategic direction for the business or technology domain. Communicates the product vision and roadmap to stakeholders and the team. Collaborates with stakeholders to understand their needs and problems. Creates and prioritizes work for one team. Learning to collaborate with cross-functional teams. With some guidance, creates and prioritizes stories in the product backlog. Refines stories with the team to ensure there are enough ready stories to load the next 1-2 sprints.
Reviews and accepts stories and is empowered to make on-the-spot decisions on scope and requirements. Works in partnership with the team to ensure that optimum value is obtained through technology and through an advanced understanding of the business. Individual contributor.
The Access, Transport, and Critical Infrastructure Network Services product management team is responsible for hardware and software products utilized in three key concentrations.
Product Managers are aligned to one or more products in the portfolio.
Access - portfolio includes technology such as routers, switches, access points, and their related monitoring and management tools.
- Transport - portfolio includes the site connectivity products deployed in the global access, distribution, and core layers.
- Critical Infrastructure - products include the bank's AAA (Authentication, Access, and Authorization) and DDI (DNS, DHCP, and IP Address Management) products delivering needed services for connectivity for users and devices both internally and externally
- Services Product Managers have four areas of responsibility.

- Product Lifecycle Management. Product Managers partner with customers, service owners, economics, finance, sourcing and other key stakeholders to ensure products are fit for purpose while managing the related product costs.

Required Skills
- Collect and facilitate customer feedback, requirements, and demand forecasts
- Collect and prioritize feature requests, aligning them to business outcomes, strategy, and cost
- Marketing of product innovation to drive strategic consumption
- Develop product intelligence including emerging products, market trends, competitor analysis, and benchmarks
- Manage product P&L inclusive of product run rates (operating costs) and strategic investments ensuring transparency to our consumers
- Develop business cases in support of product investments, customers initiatives, and strategic changes
- Lead commercial events (RFP/RFI) evaluating new technology, use cases, or purchase agreements
- Develop and maintain healthy vendor relationships including contract execution and optimization
- Product rationalization to ensure the optimal portfolio of available products New product introduction, following a formal governance process to ensure availably and operational stability
- Maintain enterprise systems of record of managed products
- Drive refresh strategies ensuring operational stability and risk of aging technology is appropriately addressed
- 5+ years of either; technology product management experience or multiple roles related to in scope products
- 3+ years financial management (i.e. business case development, P&L oversight or budgeting)
- 3+ years communication experience (i.e. customer communication, senior leaders, or key stakeholders)
- 3+ years in network technology constructs and/or appropriate network certifications
- Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office productivity software, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Preferred skills/talents:
- Prior experience with virtualization, artificial intelligence, or machine learning products / vendors
- Prior experience working in an Agile framework and/or ITIL methodologies
- Prior experience managing portfolio/budget/forecast/demand >$10MM
- Prior experience leading commercial events (i.e. RFP - Request for Proposal)
- Prior experience negotiating vendor contracts/purchase agreements
