About the job
The Red Hat Hybrid Platforms team is looking for a Manager, Product Management to join our growing team. In this role, you will bring extensive experience in people and product management. You'll manage a team of product managers and be responsible for hybrid cloud observability product management. Your mission will be to work with a cross-functional team to develop and implement a roadmap for cloud metrics telemetry, monitoring, and tracing to increase operational excellence of cloud infrastructure. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
What you will do

  • Manage a team of product managers focused on defining and delivering complex cloud-native software solutions
  • Provide performance evaluation, development, and coaching to each member of the team
  • Understand and disseminate company and business unit strategy into team operational objectives
  • Work with other senior managers and leaders to develop, modify, and carry out process improvements
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for senior management stakeholders across the activities supported by your product management team
  • Collaborate purposefully across broad stakeholders to secure diverse opinions and comprehensive feedback in solving complex problems


What you will bring

  • 5+ years of experience as a technical or business product manager for enterprise software products or managing teams in product management or adjacent product specialties (engineering, quality engineering, documentation, support, etc.)
  • Demonstrated initiative with ability to work with minimal supervision and instruction
  • Great interpersonal and negotiation skills with an emphasis on building excellent team relationships
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, analytical skills, and thorough understanding of product development
  • Previous experience bringing to market, building, or otherwise working with cloud observability solutions to collect and analyze data from applications and infrastructure
  • Understanding of advanced cloud platform management concepts (metrics, logs, tracing events, alerting, diagnosis, logging, resolution, visualization)
  • Experience with cloud platform operations including virtualization, containers, private cloud, and cloud management platforms
  • Demonstrated knowledge of cloud platform operations, technologies, key vendors, use cases, etc.
  • Proven record of influencing others without having direct authority over them
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English


The following are considered a plus:

  • Familiarity with cloud operations management platforms like Google Cloud Stackdriver, Amazon CloudWatch, VMWare Tanzu, or Azure Operations Management Suite
  • Previous community involvement with Kubernetes, KubeVirt, OpenStack, oVirt, or other open source projects
  • Experience with Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat OpenStack Platform, Red Hat Virtualization, VMware, or other enterprise-level infrastructure solutions
  • Bachelor's or master's degree, preferably in computer science or engineering; MBA or Msc
