What's the role?

  • Leads and works with a hardworking team of data engineers and risk analytics professionals in an Agile/SAFe environment.
  • Defines a product vision and strategy for the delivery of cybersecurity and risk management metrics.
  • Provides thought-leadership and mentorship on how to establish cohesive connections between quantitative and qualitative data analysis results across the security landscape.
  • Accountable for defining a roadmap for strategic reporting of cybersecurity risk metrics and collaboration with key partners from affiliated security organizations.
  • Creates and produces insights on our security performance based on measures, metrics, and KCI-KPI-KRI systems that come to life in interactive, self-service dashboards and formal presentations (written and verbal).
  • Accountable for gathering strategic analytics requirements and takes initiative to craft and develop work with the team based on interpretation of findings and business client needs.
  • Translates requirements to technical details to build and validate use cases and user stories around an analytics product and communicates them effectively.
  • Develops and maintains a prioritized backlog of user stories for implementation according to business value or return on investment.
  • Converts insights from cyber risk metrics into economic outputs for better informed risk management and security controls investments.
  • Provides consultation to business clients and may participate in multi-functional teams to address business issues.
  • Applies new perspectives, solves problems creatively, and builds inter-departmental connections to improve analytical capabilities.
  • Provides guidance on data-driven story-telling and data visualization using tools like Microsoft Power BI or Tableau.
  • Shares standard methodologies with peers through coaching and mentoring around core methodologies, data visualization standards and analytical processes.
  • Must have multi-functional work in previous experience along with good communication skills, time management, project management skills, business acuity and high self-awareness/EQ.
  • Also must have previous research experience, high data literacy, influence skills, initial leadership exposure, ability to translate product requirements into technical requirements, and work in ambiguity and solution.
  • Solves unique problems with broad impact on the business; requires conceptual and innovative thinking to develop solutions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Data Science, Operations Research, Statistics, MIS or related field.
  • 6-8 years of dynamic experience in research and data analysis, application of statistical research techniques, and application development that supports business decisions/outcomes.


Preferred experience and professional certifications:

  • Defined and operated processes to provide quantitative analysis of risk, to include the calculation of probability and financial impact of potential loss events and prioritization of risk mitigation activities (based upon calculated return on investment and the organization's established risk tolerance).
  • Understanding of information risk, cybersecurity, and data privacy.
  • Development expertise in analytical tools such as SAS, SQL, MS Excel, or others.
  • Statistical programming and data mining experience using R or Python.
  • Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, MS Azure, Google Analytics.
  • Scrum/SAFe Product Management or Product Owner certification.
  • One or more advanced risk or security certifications (e.g. CISSP, CRISC, CISA, CISM, CCSP, FAIR).
