As a Lead Product Manager you will own the product vision, strategy, and delivery of our rapidly growing wealth management business. You will focus on building a user-experience led set of wealth management capabilities and help modernize our legacy systems and enhance our experiences across both our Field and Client/Customer users. You will influence and partner with a cross-functional team of Financial Advisors/ Field Leaders, Software Engineers, Designers, Technology Vendors, and Business Partners in an agile framework to deliver user value and business outcomes. Strong product fundamental, accompanied by wealth management experience will need to be supplemented with effectively communicating vision and aligning teams around shared goals. For the right candidate, this role presents an opportunity to build game-changing technology for Northwestern Mutual's Financial Advisors and Clients.
Responsibilities:
- Set product strategy and influence acceptance and adoption of that strategy with the end user's experience at the center of their decision making.
- Strong knowledge of wealth management and business areas they support and ability to interact with various Financial Advisors and practice models to drive at value while balancing standardization.
- Manage the product line life cycle from the strategic planning to tactical initiatives for both vended and custom solutions.
- Specify the market requirements in relation to the business' product for both existing and future products based on market research realized through interactions with the clients, consumers and prospective users.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with business partners including engineering, marketing, design, and sales to allow for the smooth and efficient flow of product activities.
- Work closely with technical departments to ensure user needs are being met and resolve issues as they emerge and evolve.

Bring Your Best! What this role needs:
- 5+ years relevant experience; preferably in a software development organization, implementing wealth management systems for Financial Advisors and Clients.
- Experience with investment management systems, and broker/dealer tools, including custody.
- Sets divisional priorities and allocates resources to align with business. Is accountable for the performance and results of the team.
- Proven track record of launching successful platforms and common components for both internal consumption and for 3rd parties/clients.
- Experience partnering with user-experience design functions and applying customer experience best practices.
- Proven ability to use both qualitative and quantitative data to back up assumptions and develop business cases.
- Experience with and embraces Lean-Agile principles/DevOps environment.
- Strong strategic aptitude; ability to define and support product strategy and road map.
- Excellent customer experience intuition; demonstrated success in inventing creative and user-friendly products.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in related field required, Master's degree preferred.
