About Us

Wonder is a fast-growing food-tech startup that’s raising the bar on the role food plays in peoples’ lives. We’re creating an on-demand dining experience where customers can receive high-quality meals perfectly prepared and served to their doorsteps within minutes. We partner with the best restaurants and chefs across a diverse range of cuisines to offer access to the world’s most delicious food—anytime, anywhere. Meals are prepared in Wonder kitchens and finished by onboard chefs deployed in our customized mobile kitchens.

Wonder is led by a team of experienced entrepreneurs including some of the most accomplished leaders and operators in the technology, culinary, and logistics industries. Backed by top-tier venture capitalists, we’re moving quickly to pioneer the future of food.

If you join our team, you’ll work in a supportive and collaborative environment where our culture and our values—Mastery, Compassion, and Courage—are taken as seriously as delivering an incredible experience for our customers.

About the role

We are obsessed with providing our Customers a world class experience, and that begins with the promises we make to our Customers about when they can expect their fresh hot meal to be delivered.  The Head of Product Operations is the business leader responsible for making sure that the ETA promises we make to our Customers are always accurate and that we will be on time.

Wonder’s food delivery is more complex than traditional delivery models because we bring the restaurant to you and prepare our meals right in front of our Customers’ homes.  This complexity manifests as an opportunity to give best in class visibility to the Customer about the status of their order, and also to mathematically and statistically map out the process from “Ordering” to “Eating.” This will include travel time and distance predictions, traffic and obstacle handling recommendations, as well as experience optimization of how this information is communicated to Customers.

In this role, you will have broad influence to make process and product enhancements as well as to evolve our delivery algorithms to achieve best in class on-time performance.  You will be expected to make data-driven decisions, analyze poorly performing deliveries, and define a strategy for consistently improving our on-time delivery KPIs.

The Head of Product Operations will partner with Technology, Operations, Engineering, Data Science and Product to develop mission-critical software and hardware solutions with the goals of minimizing ETA volatility and maximizing on-time deliveries. You will oversee gaps between teams, processes and systems, helping teams reduce exposure to classic failure modes that have an adverse effect on ETA accuracy and overall customer delivery experience.

You will have an opportunity to recruit new members of the team as well as engage with third parties for any other skillsets or consulting support that is needed by the team.  You will develop and own the budget that’s needed to make your team successful.

This is a high visibility role that has measurable impact on a daily basis. As such, you will be expected to communicate with executive stakeholders and company leaders about your team’s objectives, wins/losses and plans for continuous improvement.

The experience you have

We are seeking a data-driven professional with experience analyzing and optimizing predictions for geospatial travel as well as dynamic proprietary processes onboard our mobile kitchens.

  • An MBA or advanced degree is preferred, but a Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Management, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics or other quantitative discipline, with related professional experience in logistics/transportation/supply chain/package delivery/last mile operations is a must
  • The ideal candidate will have experience problem solving, performing in-depth analytics, prioritizing efforts and deconstructing sophisticated problems at the intersection of technology and human processes
  • You have prior experience performing cost/benefit analysis, analyzing risk/reward trade-offs.
and driving decisions through data, utilizing tools such as SQL, Looker and Excel
  • You are comfortable working within various time constraints, owning decisions from inception to implementation and can drive continuous improvement efforts using program management skills

The way you work

Our People are what makes our Company great, and we want you to be just as excited as collaborative as we are on this journey. If this sounds like you, then come join the team!

  • You never settle for “good enough” and inspire the team to do their very best
  • You recognize that people are people and treat them all with the respect, empathy and compassion that they deserve. You recognize that by bringing diverse opinions to the table, we can evaluate the very best ideas and go all in
  • You are obsessed with problem solving and use data, insights, good judgement and a good heart to make decisions for the business and our customers
  • You have the maturity and professional experience to challenge the status quo, pursue what seems impossible, and lead through open dialogue

Benefits

We offer a competitive salary package including equity and 401K with matching. Additionally, we provide multiple medical, dental, and vision plans to meet all of our employees' needs as well as many benefits and perks that are not listed.
