Head of Digital Product and Growth, Comedy.tv

Allen Media Digital is accelerating its OTT/DTC streaming strategy and products.We're looking for a consumer-focused product leader to drive the development of a new Comedy focused streaming platform that will be the greatest collection of distinctive comedy content.

This is a unique opportunity for the right candidate to fill this newly created position and make a mark on an ambitious vision.

Successful candidates will be leaders who can prioritize well in a startup environment, communicate clearly while managing a high volume of inputs and have a consistent track record of delivery. They will also be consumer obsessed, have a demonstrated background in product and streaming. They will have excellent project management skills, they are motivated to win in a fast-paced environment, believe in team empowerment and always deliver results.

Position Summary:

The Head of Digital Product and Growth, working closely with the senior leadership, will be responsible for all aspects of Comedy.tv's product. Cross functional responsibilities include: vision, strategy, UI/UX, development, implementation, audience growth and management of all adjacent product initiatives that support the business operation.

Lead a user-centric approach to accelerate and innovate our product to continue to reach new heights as a world-class streaming experience.

Drive exponential user growth and retention by executing, in partnership with marketing, aggressive and efficient audience growth and engagement strategy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Work with internal groups and external stakeholders to gather input, understand business priorities and communicate product roadmap.
  • Create and manage all documentation related to Comedy.tv product including roadmap, strategy and high-level business requirements.
  • Work with 3rd party vendors to lead the development process, including product launch and feature prioritization.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate matters related to video content, troubleshooting, and improving the overall video and product experience.
  • Evaluate and establish/maintain new capabilities needed to build and manage digital products.
  • Support in the maintenance of a continuous product roadmap
  • Take responsibility for delivery and product schedules that supports business objectives, ensuring on-time and on-budget product launches.
  • Develop product strategy by performing competitive and marketplace analyses to assess trends.
  • Guide team to create compelling products and refine product road map based on the voice of customer and business intelligence.
  • Work closely with other constituent groups, including design, development, marketing, and ad sales to effectively and efficiently communicate product plans.
  • Build/manage relationships with key vendors.
  • Develop and recruit top talent for the organization.

Education, Experience, Certification Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
  • 5 years of experience leading impactful digital teams: Product, Growth, Engineering, etc.
  • Experience with launching apps/websites from planning to release on aggressive timelines - strong implementation skills.
  • Demonstrable success developing AVOD, SVOD, OTT and/or mobile, web, HTML5 products.
  • Preparing and gaining approval for product strategy and roadmap including input from key internal and partner stakeholders.
  • Experience with managing 3rd party development vendors.
  • Experience with agile and waterfall development approaches with a key focus on balance between the two methods.
  • Demonstrable experience of product execution skills, having led cross-functional teams to develop and launch consumer-facing products.

  • Ability to develop product plans quickly and accurately with great attention to detail.
  • Outstanding collaborative skills and ability to work well on a team while driving results.
  • Ability to work independently under tight deadlines to support aggressive business needs.
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.
