Overview
Responsible for developing the vision and strategic direction for Technical Product Management (TPM), leveraging the AWS cloud ecosystem and leading efforts across Production Loan Software Engineering teams to deliver on initiatives and scalable applications designed to streamline and enhance the loan process. Delegates responsibilities to unit management and oversees all unit operational activities to ensure efficient and effective execution. Aggregates productivity results and presents to executive management. Exemplifies and drives business unit culture and oversees all people management activities to ensure hiring, motivation, training, coaching and counseling, and terminations are conducted appropriately.
Job Description
  • Responsible for co-championing technical product management strategy as well as the planning and successful execution of said strategy. Provide vision and direction to the Agile product development teams and stakeholders
  • Continually retrospect, analyzing data to drive innovation within the product
  • Work closely with the rest of the engineering leadership and product management teams to ensure we're building modular, analytics and capability rich, scalable and secure services, products and features
  • Act as the Technical Product Owner for all in-scope products
  • Ensure teams always have an adequate amount of prior prepared and prioritized efforts (i.e. epics, user stories, etc.) to focus on
  • Champion pre-planning, planning and prioritization of product backlogs. Assess value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics and themes to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value that are aligned with product strategy
  • Champion backlog grooming, iteration planning, and elaboration of the user stories processes and other Scrum rituals
  • Provide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals Research and analyze market, the users, and the roadmap for the product
  • Keep abreast with Agile/Scrum best practices and trends
  • Provide mentoring and guidance to TPM staff
  • Play a key role in hiring, retention, and growth of talent: attract, evaluate, coach and mentor staff
  • Motivate the team and enthusiastically rally them around delivering against a wide variety of organizational initiatives
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned
  • Demonstrate behaviors which are aligned with the organization's desired culture and values
Ideal Candidate will have the following:
  • 5+ years solid experience in and expert understanding of technical product and project management leadership in geo distributed environments including at least 1-2 years of experience with cloud based ecosystems
  • Previous experience with and understanding of structured software engineering including at least 1 year as an engineer
  • Ability to be speak "tech," yet verbally and cognitively agile enough to hold their own in a strategy discussion with senior technical, product or executive leadership
  • Comfortable with recruiting and leading TPMs capable of working on projects at scale unlike any other they've encountered
  • Proactive contributor that is calm under pressure, with an eagerness to learn and share with the team
  • Experienced with Agile / Scrum methodologies
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and oral
  • Working understanding of basic SQL and strong understanding of data-driven product development concepts
  • Some experience with FinTech is a plus
  • Previous experience with or good understanding of SaaS and / or PaaS platforms is a plus
  • A passion for learning, continuous improvement, sharing, and working in a team environment
  • Proven people management skills
