This is a Director - Technical Product position within the Optum Technology supporting Payer business. This business provides software products and services to various health care payers to ensure that payments are being made accurately - saving billions of dollars for these payers. Payer business has shown tremendous growth over the last few years necessitating us to grow the team and add this new position.
You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.
Primary responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and define data products' needs and roadmaps
  • Influence and build strategies to meet the ever growing and evolving data needs to grow the business and reduce operational/other costs
  • Build, lead and grow distributed product management teams
  • Demonstrate leadership in the context of product management and be an evangelist for product management best practices
  • Partnering with other leaders/teams (within and outside of Payer) to build products that can be leveraged across multiple LOBs
  • Collaborating effectively with delivery teams and sharing responsibility for delivery and outcomes for the defined roadmaps removing roadblocks that inhibit delivery

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience with technical product management
  • 3+ years of experience leading a team in a large matrixed organization
  • Agile/Scrum experience
  • Data management experience
  • Experience working with internal and external clients (Preferably Healthcare Payers)


Preferred qualifications:

  • Healthcare Data experience
  • Technology and/or Engineering background/experience
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills with ability to describe data/capability stories and explain value to stakeholders

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $113,500 to $218,100. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $113,500 to $218,100.
