HOW YOU’LL HELP EVERYONE PET PARENT LIKE A PRO

GoodFriend is the digital destination for pet parents to access professional services for all their pet’s needs. We are creating a new category in pet services, transforming the way that pet parents experience professional services. Our product provides pet parents and pet care professionals with much-needed digital capabilities empowering them both to focus on loving and taking care of pets. As part of the Kinship team, GoodFriend is helping us achieve the Mars Petcare vision for a better world for pets. 

As our Director of Product, you will be responsible for the entire GoodFriend product including the development of our product roadmap, executional delivery, operational efficiency, and providing a best-in-class experience for both sides of our marketplace. This role works closely with engineering, design, and business development and will frequently engage with cross-functional executive leadership.

HOW YOU’LL HELP EVERYONE PET PARENT LIKE A PRO

• Lead product for our newly incubated pet professional services marketplace
• Oversee and grow a small product team by communicating a strategy, providing direction, mentorship and inspiration
• Develop a clear product roadmap with decision points and multiple paths depending on potential outcomes
• Regularly present updates to executive leadership
• Ensure on-time delivery through deep partnership with engineering 
• Collaborate on business strategy planning and be the source of truth on product, user experience, and functionality
• Identify and assess product growth opportunities via in-house development or strategic partnerships
• Work closely with critical external partners to deliver on needs that expand our opportunities for both seekers and providers on our marketplace
• When needed, willingness to roll up sleeves and produce requirements as the team grows

REQUIREMENTS:

• 6+ years in traditional product management roles with at least 3 years leading product managers
• 2+ years at a digital marketplace business
• Experience leading several large-scale product development projects and initiatives from the ground-up leading to successful results
• Self-motivated and accountable product leader with strong ability to estimate feature scope against milestones and resources
• Dedicated team-player who builds great relationships and is the first person to volunteer when partner marketing needs help promoting your product
• “Yes, if” mentality; poise, adaptability and flexibility describe how you handle pressure and market change (e.g., new mandate, pet ownership growth, new strategic opportunities)
• Excellent presentation skills including an eye for easy-to-follow presentations and regular experience with C-suite Q&A
• Impeccable product management fundamentals — from mastery of productive agile processes to your own product framework, you know the tools and the structures that gets thing done efficiently
• Pet Care industry experience is a strong plus
