Anaplan is seeking a tenacious Director of Product Operations to lead critical aspects of the Product Organization and Product Operations team for the fastest growing company in the connected planning category. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Product Operations and Pricing, the Director of Product Operations will be a trusted advisor within the organization and a respected partner to cross-functional organizations. We are looking for a self-starter who deals with ambiguity combined with a strong background of driving cross-functional program management and operations working across both business (sales, CS, pre-sales) and engineering partners.

The Product Operations and Pricing team, reporting into the Product organization, is seeking someone with a track record of success, with growing responsibilities, highly skilled at working cross-functionally to align key team members and partners. The ideal person for this role will have experience aligning front and back-office teams, coordinating and leading interlock meetings and agendas, driving teams to achieve deadlines, and leading communications. Prior experience in tech strategy, business operations, program management, or management consulting would be ideal.

This is a highly visible role across the organization, and this person must have the ability to build trust and partnerships with other colleagues in product management, finance, customer success, sales operations, pricing, and Go-to-Market Strategy functions. The ideal candidate will bring a combination of business strategy, quantitative reasoning, a passion for solving sophisticated problems, excellent communication skills, and the desire to help boil complicated strategies down into easy-to-understand presentations.

The position is based in San Francisco, CA, and we are open to other US locations and flexible work locations for the ideal candidate. Anaplan pays competitive salary, bonus, benefits, and equity.

Responsibilities

This Director of Product Operations will be an integral member of the Product Operations and Pricing team and will work cross-functionally across the entire Anaplan organization. Some of the responsibilities will include:

  • Partner alignment with Product Management, Functions, Solutions, Technology Partnerships, Research & Development, Care, Finance, Legal, Sales, and Customer Success
  • Oversee all aspects of Product Operations and communications including; driving business reviews (QBRs, MBRs, WBRs), Annual Planning for product, SVP-Product staff meetings etc.
  • Develop key performance metrics to measure performance of Anaplan’s SaaS product offerings
  • Become trusted advisor as a subject matter expert in SaaS and spend metrics
  • Streamline planning processes, including Annual Operation Planning and prioritization of product roadmaps
  • Collaborate with executive team and Go-to-Market leadership to support analyses including market sizing, addressable opportunity, win/loss analysis, pipeline health, competitive overview, and customer needs
  • Manage tools and execute related programs that drive automated metrics at scale for our Product team
  • Ability to actively problem-solve and execute on leadership requests in a timely manner
  • Effective team player and leader who is also an entrepreneurial problem solver
  • Self-starter who enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative, and innovative high-growth environment
  • Prioritize most urgent requests and drive issues toward resolution

Relevant professional experience

We are looking for candidates from a diverse set of backgrounds that have experience distilling sophisticated ideas down into easy to understand business strategies. Candidates should have prior managerial experience but also be ready to roll up your sleeves and chip in with your own skills in strategic analyses and decisions. Example backgrounds may include:

  • Bachelor’s degree required from a competitive institution; MBA or graduate degree preferred
  • Demonstrated ability in technology or software company in strategy, business operations, or management consulting
  • Excellent presentation and written communication skills
  • Shown ability to supervise, prioritize, and drive multiple concurrent projects to success
  • Ability to lead both individual and team workloads, to help succeed with goals and deadlines
  • Highly analytical and able to troubleshoot issues quickly
  • Outstanding data analytics and problem-solving skills, with an ability to synthesize disparate information and data into impactful recommendations.
  • Data-driven with a dedication to process improvement
  • Ability to focus on progress and results; a natural problem-solver
  • Aptitude for technology and ability to connect technical concepts with customer value
  • Ability to prioritize and focus in a results-driven environment where trade-offs are crucial skills.
