As Tyler Technologies Courts & Justice Division continues to grow, we seek to stand up a team and organizational structure responsible for defining and bringing to market high quality enterprise data and integration products.

Technical Product Management will play an integral part of the Product Management team as we move into a technology-led strategy for Courts & Justice, with the Director, Technical Product Management being an essential component of that team. This function has a deep understanding of how to bring the best of C&J products together, including a deep understanding of how to leverage current and future platform capabilities.
Responsibilities

The Director, Technical Product Management is responsible for:

Strategy

  • Productizing existing and future integrations between C&J products and other Tyler offerings, customer systems, and third-party solutions.
  • Optimizing and scaling existing integrations to maximize their benefit to the organization and customers.
  • Champion enterprise and product specific strategic directions, including pricing strategy.


Roadmaps

  • Driving the establishment of an end-to-end integrations and data product/platform vision and multi-year roadmaps for C&J data and integrations in partnership with R&D, product development teams and the business.
  • Track value delivered, product adoption, performance, and execution against the integrations and data roadmaps and adjusting roadmaps as necessary.
  • Ensure roadmaps account for and integrate dependencies across functional areas within domains


Business Opportunities

  • Supporting C&J leadership in identifying and vetting M&A opportunities from a technical and integration standpoint.
  • Contribute to robust business cases and optimized product investments through review, analysis and challenge to ensure business assumptions are valid.


Partnering

  • Partnering with internal and external stakeholders to understand enterprise justice customer needs and business goals and providing strategic direction on how to support them with technical integration and data solutions.
  • Create strategic alliances with relevant stakeholders across organization to make communication seamless across product development process.


Team

  • Build and lead team of technical product managers and analysts capable of taking existing solutions and future initiatives to market.
  • Coach and inspire product team members to apply and strengthen problem solving skills and identify long-term opportunities for product development in response to user needs and market conditions.


Thought leadership

  • Serves as thought-leader and stakeholder for software development methodologies, with full expertise of the technical aspects of product development.
  • Anticipate and identify changing technical knowledge needs based on changes in the business, and emerging technologies.
  • Provide expert insights into developing a product vision and determining product development approach.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline
  • Experience hiring, managing, and mentoring direct reports
  • +10 years of experience working in product management
  • Ability to represent 'the voice of the customer' in technical discussions with architecture and engineering teams
  • Expert in agile software development methodologies and practices
  • Experience creating and leading product and technology presentations to internal and external senior leaders
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to learn unfamiliar technologies and become productive with them quickly
  • Strong oral/written communication skills
  • Experience making build/buy/partner recommendations and decisions
  • Experience working with offshore teams
