SmartFinancial is a leading insurance technology company working on building tools to make the insurance shopping process better, simpler and more effective. We are looking for an experienced Director of Product Management to drive and oversee the growth, functionality and profitability of our insurance product. You’ll be responsible for product performance, building the product management team, development of a product roadmap, and execution of strategic initiatives. You will be responsible for the filing and rating of our insurance product and implementing it within our user experience. We are looking for a curious problem solver who keeps the needs of the consumer in mind and is willing to roll up your sleeves to get the job done. 

Responsibilities:

• P&L responsibility for line of business and/or states
• You will drive product expansion, strategy, roadmap and backlog prioritization
• Create line of business / state strategies including all operational goals including; user experience, underwriting quality, price segmentation, retention, and claims experience
• File and work through state regulatory approval processes
• You will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing the product performance by tracking various key performance indicators
• You will build, train and develop the product team by providing hands on leadership
• You will leverage functional leaders and other senior leadership to help achieve goals and deliver on the product roadmap

​Qualifications:

• You have 10 years of experience in product management roles
• You have Insurance industry knowledge or demonstrated work experience
• You have previous experience in rate design and rate filings
• Proven success leading lines of business or state teams
• You possess a strong track record in risk management and project management skills
• You’re hands-on and a self-starter. You’re able and have the willingness to roll up your sleeves and drive initiatives with little oversight. 
• You have people leadership and team building skills
• You take a data-driven analytical approach to problem solving
• You have a degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or another quantitative field; MS/MBA is a plus
• You have the ability to work with all levels of management
• This position is remote during COVID-19, with plans to be based in our Costa Mesa office in the future
