Reporting to the Head of Banking Products, this role is a critical part of the product leadership team and will be instrumental in growing and managing Toast’s credit product suite and purchase finance solutions. 

You will spearhead initiatives to grow the reach and impact of innovative lending and financing solutions that are tailored to the needs of restaurant owners. In this role, you will collaborate with other Toast teams across Product, Engineering, Data Science, Operations, Marketing, and Credit. You will hire and manage a team of product managers and interface with our restaurant customers and restaurant guests directly to get feedback on product enhancements, issues and usability in order to inspire and inform how Toast continues to iterate and grow their lending product suite. Finally, you will represent the product strategy to Toast’s Senior Leadership Team and ensure alignment between your product roadmap and Toast’s near, medium and long term goals.

About this roll* (description):

  • Manage, mentor and hire a team of product managers and product analysts focused on strengthening and expanding our suite of lending products and purchase finance experiences
  • Lead our transformative mission to financially empower restaurants with access to affordable lending and financial partnership through new and innovative products including our term loan, equipment lease, and equipment loan products
  • Develop and execute a technical vision that embeds our lending products throughout the Toast ecosystem
  • Create & present business cases and business models for new product investments, and measure/quantify success of product launches
  • Work with Product Leadership and product teams to define and integrate best practices and processes related to OKRs (objectives & key results), customer feature requests and internal tools 
  • Collaborate with Toast’s lines of business, CIO and CRO organizations to determine next generation of product investment for restaurants and each of their spending channels
  • Work directly with internal teams to iterate on product requirements & design feedback 
  • Lead by example, at times, working alongside the team in defining requirements, workflows, interaction, user journeys, process/screen flows, and wireframes

Do you have the right ingredients* (requirements):

  • Passion for innovative and disruptive financial services that break the status quo
  • Extensive experience in product management in a lending or banking product line
  • Track record of success (and enjoyment) in building and leading high performing teams while mentoring and growing individual contributors
  • Deep understanding of agile product methodologies and best practices
  • Understanding of B2B and B2C dynamics, including experience building B2B apps at scale
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, agile environment, while also leading process improvement efforts
  • Knowledge of restaurant and hospitality industry is a plus
