The Director, Product Development is accountable for overseeing day-to-day operations of the Company’s product development activities. This role is responsible for the efficient and high-quality output of all software development activities of the Company. They will work closely with executive leadership in Operations and Product Management to understand key initiatives and strategies for accelerating adoption of Company solutions. The Director, Product Development and QA will lead the Product Development team and provide assistance with tasks related to managing and providing strategic direction, definition, and all aspects of execution. This position operates with minimal supervision.

The product that you help build will be implemented at health systems immediately. It will benefit patients with some of the most complex conditions and you will have a visible and direct impact on improving their day-to-day lives.

The role is based in Atlanta with up to 25% travel for on-site customer implementations.

You would be responsible for:

  • Oversees all aspects of full development life cycle of software engineering
  • Works closely with all product managers, customers, and sales management to determine best product positioning
  • Hires, leads and manages the engineering team, including outside resources, consultants and agencies as needed
  • Defines and executes a plan for ensuring Company delivers high quality products delivered on time and within budget
  • Establishes quality metrics and specific release criteria for every product release
  • Collaborates with the Company’s executive team to develop and achieve our strategic vision
  • Meets with Operations, Sales and other departments to discuss solutions to any identified problems
  • Company strategy, solution architecture, product design, and value proposition
  • Manages the engineering budget
  • Develops and nurtures a team of seasoned architecture and engineering team leaders
  • Communicate effectively, building consensus across multiple teams
  • Leads inspirationally with a commitment to common goals and vision
  • Anticipates and leads change through the organization, equipping staff to adapt quickly
  • Negotiates up, down and with peers to find common ground, and obtains buy-in for strategies and tactics

 We are excited to speak with someone who has:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in business, software engineering, computer science, or a related field preferred
  • Ten years of experience in software industry and at least five years of leadership experience
  • Proven experience in leading cross functional teams
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, decision making, and communication skills and experience managing a small team that delivers results and meets all goals set forth
  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills
  • The ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions
  • Ability to present to audiences of 100 or more people
  • Experience in application architecture
  • Extensive experience working with AWS hosting and technologies like CloudFormation, CloudFront, Lambda, CloudWatch, Elastic Search, S3 Storage, QuickSight dashboards etc
  • Experience with Databases like AWS Aurora MySQL
  • Advanced coding skills in multiple languages and development frameworks like Node.js, React, Angular, Nightwatch.js, BitBucket source control etc
  • Great understanding of general Healthcare practices and data sets like EDI, HL7, ADT, SIU, Encounter, Claims, Hospital Charges, etc

 And bonus points if you have experience with any of these items:

  • Experience with pharmacy dispensing systems, such as Pioneer, Rx30, Winrx, CPR+, PDX, EnterpriseRx, QS/1, or Epic Willow Ambulatory
  • Experience with specialty pharmacy software programs, such as Scriptmed, Therigy, or Asembia1
  • Basic understanding of specialty pharmacy performance metrics such as referral turnaround times (time to ship, time to clean claim) and adherence metrics (MPR and PDC)
  • Experience with Data Lake and Data Warehouse concepts and execution
