We are looking for an enthusiastic Director of Digital Product Management to join our core Science team, ready to dive into user research, market research, and cross-functional product initiatives as well as building innovative educational products for the science market. Our product managers work with Amplify leadership across design, curriculum, engineering, marketing, and implementation teams to drive our vision and collaborate with other product managers to build and execute against the roadmap. We are passionate about building the best possible experience for teachers, students, and administrators. We are searching for someone who is equally excited about making an impact in the education community.
Primary Responsibility:
The Director of Digital Product Management (DDPM) will have two primary responsibilities: firstly, lead all aspects of technical product development projects for the Science team, and secondly, act as the primary liaison with other internal cross-product technology teams.
As the lead on Science's technical product development projects, you will be responsible for producing budget estimates, acting as product owner for approved Science-specific projects (collaborating with internal engineers, design team, vendors, etc.), and collaborating with the VP and other product managers on technical decisions, priorities, and overall product strategy.
The DDPM will synthesize and communicate current progress, blockers, and next steps from the technology teams for Science's key partners. Conversely, the DDPM will synthesize Science key partner feedback, market expectations, user feedback, knowledge of competitive products, and collaborate with the cross-product technology teams to advise and develop industry-leading products.
The DDPM shall report to the Vice President, Science.
Other Responsibilities:
User Empathy - Be a passionate advocate for our customers and users and empathize with their needs. Represent these varied perspectives through all phases of product development. Serve with expertise in our customer feedback, drawing insights from data points and sharing them with the product team to aid product strategy. Explore usage data for insights into how our product is used in classrooms.
Market Research and Analysis - Keep abreast of the education market and prepare briefs to share with leadership and product teams. Research the competitive product landscape to advise product, design, and development decisions. Integrate research findings into important planning and product development.
User Research - Conduct user testing interviews, organize and recruit for pilots, and visit Amplify classrooms to identify problems and validate improvements.
Product Planning - Conduct research to identify and analyze problems with our product using supporting data in order to address issues that our users experience. Propose solutions to overcome the challenges and collaborate with the VP and other product managers to build and execute on solutions. Create and pitch initiatives grounded in research for inclusion in the product roadmap.
Product Design - Collaborate with key partners, including design, curriculum, content production, and engineering teams to determine solutions and meet the goals of your initiatives. Make informed decisions by analyzing data from product metrics/user behavior and prototyping results.
Product Development - Serve as a key member of cross-functional agile teams to plan, develop, and deliver working software. Lead the product development process for Science-specific projects, from ideation and research, to planning and implementation, to release and iteration. Actively participate in your teams' ceremonies and be readily available to address questions, concerns, and blockers. Set, articulate, and advocate for product principles across teams. Create roadmaps, balance priorities, and ensure timely execution of new products and services to market.
Product Deployment - Draft internal customer-facing communications, release notes, and training materials for the launch of new features. Review all relevant information before it is released. Support product troubleshooting.
