Positions in this function are responsible for specific services, functions, and solutions available internally or as a supporting element of a product, typically not sold stand-alone externally. Positions in this function play a critical role in ability to deliver products to market and/or manage internal business functions. Capability management requires alignment to business and/or product strategy, effective design and development, and ongoing management of capability portfolio across the full lifecycle to ensure business-specific or cross-enterprise impact. Market insights are leveraged to monitor trends and external landscape, and to inform capability strategies and customer use case scenarios. Positions in this function are accountable for delivering sustainable, financially sound solutions that solve a specific problem and enable successful external product delivery and/or internal business function performance, while driving adoption with internal business clients and define future capability direction that supports business strategy and new opportunities.
As a Digital Product Manager within Optum Rx IT, you will be vital to our success and drive future growth. In this role you will provide leadership in the management and development of digital experience products. You will be empowered to do your best to develop the IT strategy and vision for digital experience product roadmaps, establish collaborative relationships with external and internal stakeholders, gather accurate requirements and manage product delivery to enhance our mission of helping people live healthier lives.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Think strategically and creatively how the Optum Rx pharmacy digital consumer experience should work - translating a vision to processes and requirements
  • Navigate and influence multiple cross-functional teams in a complex, matrix work environment
  • Develop digital experience product feature strategies and value proposition
  • Manage product backlog for Optum Perks portal and mobile experience; own product implementation
  • Forecast revenue or savings opportunities associated with product development initiatives and programs
  • Manage cross-segment projects and initiatives that require problem solving, relationship building, influencing and analyzing
  • Influence innovation across teams to ensure aligned, cohesive progress across technology, marketing, and service operations
  • Serve as product subject matter expert to business and technology teams
  • Individual contributor role

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of Product Management / Product development experience
  • 2+ years' experience working close with IT supporting the design, development, management or decommission of new, existing or acquisition consumer digital products (mobile/tablet, web)
  • 2+ years' experience working with digital, call center and marketing internal and external business constituents to determine product future direction or respond to product inquiries
  • 1+ years' experience in managing product backlog within Agile delivery environment
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications

  • Advanced Degree
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams
  • Healthcare experience
  • Pharmacy benefits management experience
  • Familiar with Rally Software (CA Agile), Aha!, Jira, or Miro tools
  • Effectively communicate at all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve goals in a matrix environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and influence others

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
