The Role 


Outreach’s Legal team is hiring a Product Counsel to work directly with our product and engineering teams. The Legal Team supports the entire organization from Sales and Marketing to HR, Finance, Product, Engineering and everything in between! As Product Counsel you'll play a key role in the product management process at Outreach, including counseling on product engineering and business development as well as new strategic projects and initiatives.


About The Team


The Legal Team is an integral part of making our customers successful starting with our contracting process, and the team helps the company achieve strategic goals and manage legal risk. The Legal Team oversees all areas of Legal within the company and works with all departments on a regular basis.


Location: This could be a remote position within the US. #LI-Remote

Your Daily Adventures Will Include

  • Provide high quality, pragmatic and practical legal and business advice regarding a wide range of general product development, privacy/data protection, compliance, content moderation, marketing, and intellectual property issues to support our product line
  • Think strategically about emerging issues with respect to product creation, data use and 
  • Strong planning and organization skills, create and execute on plans to achieve short and long term results
  • Collaborate and partner effectively with business and legal stakeholders
  • Analyze complex product issues and provide focused advice to solve them
  • Act as point of contact for legal questions for different segments of the business
  • Draft and negotiate commercial and vendor contracts
  • Work on other projects as assigned

Basic Qualifications

  • Prior experience supporting product, engineering and business teams
  • Excellent research, reasoning and analytical skills
  • Experience collaborating with colleagues across time zones and geographies
  • Experience advising clients on risk mitigation across technology product platforms
  • Can work independently, with the ability to anticipate and address follow-up needs and escalate issues for management review
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment and establish working relationships with coworkers to successfully accomplish objectives
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to balance perseverance, humor, and dedication while displaying a strong backbone when needed

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • J.D. or equivalent degree from accredited law school;
  • Active member of the bar in at least one state in the United States; and
  • At least 6 years of experience as a practicing attorney
