About the Role
We are looking an entrepreneurial Category Manager - Steel Products . This person will be the product and market expert for our steel products to include Hot Roll, Plate, Cold Roll, and Coated products. The position will work and partner with multiple teams to develop and execute category sourcing strategies, and work with our Marketplace Team to continuously improve the steel products available on our website. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, and a creative, critical thinker with an intense motivation to lead teams and produce high quality work in a rapidly changing environment.
Candidate location in Atlanta/Southeast is preferred, but we will consider exceptional candidates across the entire US.
What You'll Do

  • Create a strategy for the steel category: Work closely with the commercial team to ensure there is a comprehensive, unified approach to the category.
  • Own pricing: Conduct pricing management, analysis, along with new tool development.
  • Manage strategic partnerships: Strategically analyze and expand our Buyer/Seller Network to rapidly expand sales opportunities
  • Be a steel products expert: SME for Steel Products and participate in cross-functional teams involving our CRM, Website, & Sales Team.
  • Lead cross functional collaboration: Own projects using the OKR format and Stage Gate processes.
  • Gain market intelligence: Collect and synthesize customer and market data to drive business opportunities.

  • Collaboration: Assertive with humility-able to lead change in a positive way, and always professional under pressure whether engaging with clients or colleagues.


Your Ideal Background
In order to accelerate your impact in the role, you'd be best served to have the following experiences:

  • 4+ years in category management in B2B or B2C roles.
  • Bachelors degree in Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • Masters Degree in a related field (MBA, Engineering, etc.), HIGHLY PREFFERED
  • E-commerce and/or Marketplace experience is highly desirable.
  • Steel Industry experience is HIGHLY DESIRED
